Chris Dobey did enough yesterday to get through his match against Darren Beveridge, averaging 92.06 during a 6-3 victory. Just the one maximum, though, shows his scoring power isn't quite there at the moment.

Cameron Menzies overcame a string of missed doubles early in his contest against Ross Smith to win 6-4. The Scot scored really well, registering three 180s, and looks likely to outscore Dobey this afternoon.

• Under 9.5 Legs: 4/6 at Bet365

James Wade produced another solid 'Wade Like' performance during his 6-3 victory over Luke Woodhouse. He defied five maximums from Woodhouse, averaging 91.78, including a 156 checkout.

Kim Huybrechts overcame a struggling Peter Wright 6-5 yesterday afternoon, averaging 90.67. The Belgian will need to play far better than he did to overcome The Machine, though, and I can't see him being solid enough to keep close in this contest.

• Niko Springer Most 180s: 13/10 at AK Bets

This looks set to be the match of the afternoon session after both players produced fabulous performances in their second-round victories yesterday. Cross averaged 102.17 during his 6-3 victory over Daryl Gurney, whilst Niko Springer wasn't far behind, averaging 96.31 during a 6-1 demolition of Damon Heta.

This will be a high-scoring match of extreme quality, so I think it's best to stay away from the result here. However, the young German has considerable scoring power at his disposal and can certainly outscore Voltage today.

• Under 9.5 Legs: 4/5 at Virgin Bet

Luke Humphries overcame a tough draw against fellow Premier League participant Nathan Aspinall yesterday. A 6-4 victory and a 95.50 average shows exactly how solid the world number 1 is nowadays without having to go through the gears.

Mike De Decker hasn't played badly of late, but he's still struggling to find the results needed to push his way back into Premier League contention. This looks to me like a step too far for the Belgian in this tournament, and I think he could get picked apart by Cool Hand this afternoon.
