The 2025 European Darts Grand Prix continues today, and whoever wins will have a long day ahead. The third round will take place this afternoon before a bumper evening session that will include the quarter-final, semi-final, and final.
Gary Anderson is the defending champion and looked in great form yesterday during his victory over Gian van Veen. He averaged 110 and hit nine maximums on the way to winning in a deciding leg.
Martin Lukeman was in the form of his life at the back end of 2024 when he made it through to his maiden major final at the Grand Slam. His form has slowly dipped since then, but he still remains a dangerous player, and proved that yesterday when dispatching Damon Heta 6-2 with a 96.20.
Raymond van Barneveld rolled back the years last night to beat Gerwyn Price 6-5 with a 97.91 average. Performances like that have been hard to come by in recent times, but Barney proved once again he can still mix it with the elite.
It will be interesting to see how much that 6-5 victory took out of Barney last night because he has notoriously struggled at the back end of his career to back up big performances, especially when he has such a long day ahead. For that reason, I think Lukeman's price is extremely generous for someone who has proved he can navigate his way through these long days.

Rob Cross played much better yesterday and came through a tricky tie, 6-3 against Mike De Decker. Two 180s and a 96.74 average was enough to get the job done, but he'll know he needs to be on top form to get through this one.
Gary Anderson was at his scintillating best yesterday when beating Gian van Veen in a European Tour classic, 6-5. The Scot hit nine maximums and averaged 110.16. Performances like that have been fairly regular from Anderson lately, and it wouldn't be a surprise if he went on to defend his title in Sindelfingen.
Cross knows exactly how to handle playing the best in the world, as he is one of them himself. The problem is at the moment, the Englishman hasn't been playing consistently enough to do so, and I think he will struggle to handle Anderson's prolific scoring power.

Niels Zonneveld has been making steady progress this season, and it looks like 2025 could be the breakthrough year he's been searching for. Two fantastic victories over Ryan Searle and Nathan Aspinall have got him to his second consecutive European Tour finals day.
James Wade was his usual steady self yesterday, averaging 91.85 during his 6-4 victory over Joe Cullen. He'll have to be better than that today, though, if he's to get past the impressive Dutchman.
Zonneveld is playing with freedom at the moment and could well be a dark horse in this tournament. He'll take a huge amount of confidence after beating Wade 6-2 just two weeks ago at European Tour 4. Wade will forever be capable of beating anybody on his day, but I think he may come unstuck here against the in-form Dutchman.

Dirk van Duijvenbode dispatched Michael van Gerwen 6-3 yesterday with a brilliant 101.34 average. The Dutchman certainly looks to be finding his form again and will be dangerous for the remainder of the year.
Martin Schindler won his 7th consecutive match on the European Tour yesterday, beating Josh Rock 6-4. When the German gets in this kind of mood, in front of his home supporters, he's notoriously hard to stop.
This match looks too tight to call, and I think the safest way into this is by looking at the 180 markets. Van Duijvenbode has found his scoring power again, and after hitting 5 maximums yesterday, I think he'll do similar again today, which should be enough to claim the most in the match.

Cameron Menzies decided to go full-time with darts as a profession a few weeks ago, and by the way he's playing at the moment, it's a wise move. He's become one of the hardest players in the world to beat, and his scoring power continues to impress. He beat Stephen Bunting 6-2 with a 98.54 average yesterday and has another tough match again this afternoon.
Peter Wright continues to show he still has the game to win tournaments after a 105.34 average yesterday. Snakebite remains defiant to claims he is finished at the elite level of this sport, and it wouldn't surprise me if he won another big tournament soon.
This is another contest that I think is very close to call, so again, the safest option looks to be the 180 market. Both these players are high scorers on their day and hit nine 180s between them in their second round matches.

Luke Woodhouse has struggled over the past few months and hasn't looked his normal, steady self. Two big wins in Sindelfingen will give him confidence, but he's still a long way away from his best, and he'll need to improve if he's to get through this match.
Ross Smith makes darts look easy at times, and he did it once again in round one, winning 6-0 with a 108.65 average. He got through another tough tie yesterday against Dave Chinsall 6-3, and it looks like a matter of time before he lifts another big title.
For me, Ross Smith is a potential Premier League pick for next season, and if he carries on the form he's in now, he'll almost certainly be in. His power scoring when he's on song is a joy to watch, and I think he'll have far too much for Woody here.
