The 2025 European Darts Grand Prix continues today with another double session in Munich. The seeded players enter the fray on day 2, headlined by a highly anticipated match between Gary Anderson and Gian van Veen.
This could easily be one of the matches of the day in Sindelfingen if both these Dutch stars are in their best form. Unfortunately, though, both have been slightly off so far this season, especially Danny Noppert.
The Freeze finally broke his duck and won a game on the European Tour this season last week in Munich. He played well too, averaging 100.63 in a 6-5 win against the highly talented young German, Niko Springer.
Nijman needs to start finding his form from last season if he's to progress the way he should be. He hasn't played badly this year, but inconsistency has been a big problem, and that was highlighted in yesterday's victory over Bradley Brooks, where he averaged just 86.50.
This could go either way, but it looks set to be a close one, and over 9.5 legs looks a steal at this price.

Gary Anderson has been sensational again this season, but the Scot is still picking and choosing his events, so he could be a little rusty today. He hasn't played for a month on tour, since PC12 at the start of April, and hasn't played on the Euro Tour since March, but had a great run to the semi-final, losing 7-6 to Nathan Aspinall.
Gian van Veen is closing in on the top 16 in the world, which shows you just how good this young man is, considering he is still relatively new to the PDC Tour. He had a fantastic run to the final of Euro Tour 4 a couple of weeks ago, losing to Michael van Gerwen 8-5, but had some magical performances there and comes into this match full of confidence.
This is the match of the day for me, and I think it could be a European Tour classic. It's going to be close, but I'm swaying towards the Dutchman, simply because he should be more match-sharp than Anderson. Saying that, though, Anderson can blow anyone away on the board, so it's going to be an interesting tie, but the value is with van Veen.

Rob Cross is going through a tough period in his career right now, and wins are looking hard to come by. It's been strange after he started the season so well, but perhaps the brutal schedule of the Premier League is catching up with him. Voltage has won just 8 of his last 20 matches on tour, which is nowhere near good enough for a player of his ability.
Mike De Decker could perhaps now look at missing the Premier League as a blessing after seeing Cross struggle over the past few months. The Belgian looks to have found his mojo again and has played well over the past 6 weeks.
Cross is on such a tough run at the moment, and he could have done with an easier draw here. De Decker will be confident to take advantage of the struggling Englishman, and I think the bookies have this wrong, so I'd take the value all day on the Belgian.

James Wade has found it tough on the European Tour this season, but he's been handed some tough opening draws. The Machine did have a run to the semi-final of European Tour 1, though, and we all know how reliable he remains.
Joe Cullen looked as if he was starting to get back to his best at the start of this season, but inconsistency has crept in again, and now we have no idea how he will play from one game to the next. He's been whitewashed, averaged below 80, and had 100 averages on tour this season, which is far too wide of a performance level. He is renowned for always finding an extra gear against the elite players in the world on stage, though, and Wade is certainly one he will need to do that against.
James Wade doesn't make many mistakes and is arguably the hardest player on tour to break down. For that reason, I think the Machine will have too much consistency for Cullen and will edge his way into the next round.

Michael van Gerwen continued his return to form on Thursday with a run to the final in Birmingham. He's lost just two of his last 10 matches on tour, including a victory at European Tour 4 in Munich.
Dirk van Duijvenbode is starting to get back to his best after his recent struggles with injury. An injury-free van Duijvenbode is dangerous against any player, especially when he's in a confident and boyish mood.
The Titan had a fabulous run to the quarter-final in Graz, and he never seems afraid to play the great Dutchman. This will be interesting, and it wouldn't surprise me to see van Duijvenbode win a close one, but the safe bet here is for him to hit the most 180s because he hits maximums with ease.

This is another match that has the potential to be a Euro Tour classic, especially as it was 7-6 in last week's semi-final in Graz in the Germans' favour.
Josh Rock has been extremely consistent this season and looks to be well on his way to consolidating his place in the world's top 16. Rocky has had back-to-back semi-finals on the European Tour and has finally taken his floor form onto the big stages.
Martin Schindler produced some brilliant performances on his way to a third European Tour title of his career last week. He came through a tough opening match against Callan Rydz yesterday, and although this draw could have been a lot easier, when Schindler gets on a run like this on the Euro Tour, it's taken something special to stop him.
The German is on home soil, and I think that's going to be the difference in this match. Schindler is adored by the German fans, and with how confident he looks at the moment, I think the crowd can pull him through another tight match against the Northern Irishman.
