The fifth European Tour event of the season will be played in Graz at the Austrian Darts Open. 48 of the best players in the world will compete for the trophy and the £30,000 first prize.
Friday's first round will feature 16 matches across two sessions. Jonny Clayton, the defending champion in Graz, will be looking for his third Austrian Darts Open title this weekend.
Madars Razma has had a good start to the season, highlighted by a semi-final run in PC06 in March. The Latvian played well last week in Munich and made it to the last 16 before losing to Peter Wright 6-4. A seasonal average of 91.74 and a 53% win rate is solid enough, and if he keeps playing like that, he will continue to make progress this year.
Ian White has had a tough few years on tour, but he's in the twilight of his career now. He showed how dangerous he remains, though, after runs to the final and semi-final of PC09 and PC12 over the last month. The Englishman is inconsistent nowadays, however, and that's highlighted by eight first-round exits in 14 Players Championship events this season.
Madars Razma will take a lot of confidence from his run to the last 16 last week and can take advantage of the fact Ian White hasn't played a Euro Tour this season, and should come through this relatively comfortably.

Andrew Gilding has lost just once in the first round of a PDC event this season and has had two semi-final runs in the Players Championship events this year. A seasonal average of 93.05 and a win ratio of 61% is very solid, and he'll be hard to beat in the first round here.
Chris Landman continues to struggle on the PDC Tour and has lost in the first round six times in 14 events played. He hasn't made it past the last 32 of any ranking event this year, and this is the first Euro Tour he's qualified for in 2025.
Landman's seasonal average of 89.94 isn't good enough to compete at this level, and he may get found out this afternoon against the solid Englishman.

Matthew Dennant is playing in his second European Tour event of the season after losing a tight game 6-5 against Ricardo Pietreczko at the Belgian Darts Open. Dennant made it to the quarter-final of PC11 earlier this month, and a seasonal average of 90.68 shows he's starting to find his feet on the PDC circuit.
Rowby-John Rodriguez lost his tour card last year and struggled at Q school in January, failing to regain his professional status. He'll be playing in front of his home crowd here today, which should get him up for this, but a lack of high-level darts over the past few months will definitely be a hindrance.
Match sharpness is always a big factor in this sport, and with Rodriguez currently off the main tour, I think Dennant comes through this match, but it may be a tight one.

Lukas Wenig is playing in his first European Tour event of the season in Graz and needs to improve to get past Springer here. He's struggled on the tour this year and has suffered nine first-round defeats in 14 Players Championship events. A seasonal average of 88.97 isn't going to cut it at this level, and he could find it tough tonight.
Niko Springer remains one of the brightest young stars in the sport, but he hasn't had the best of starts to the 2025 season. The German has failed to make it past the 16 in any ranking event this season, and a seasonal average of 90.30 needs to be improved on.
Springer continues to be one of the biggest maximum hitters in world darts, and the odds here for him to have the most 180s is tremendous value.

Ritchie Edhouse was very poor in Munich last week, averaging just 84.82 in a 6-4 defeat to Mickey Mansell. He did have a run to the quarter-final of PC12 earlier in the month, but apart from that, he's had a tough start to 2025.
Mensur Suljovic lost a tight game 6-5 to Krzysztof Ratajski in Munich, but showed enough to expect him to compete well here. The Austrian is in the twilight of his career now and needs a good season to save his Tour Card, but a 92.83 seasonal average suggests he is still more than capable of doing so.
Suljovic has always thrived in big matches, and playing in front of his home crowd tonight should lift the Austrian. Edhouse has been extremely inconsistent over the past few months and may find it tough to find his groove in front of this partisan crowd.
