Betzone used to be operated by the well-known provider Playbook Gaming Limited, making it a sister site of bookies like Rhino Bet and NRG Bet. However, in addition to switching ownership from Betzone Ltd to Richmond Atlantic Ltd (UKGC licence number 65056), Betzone launched its new site with the provider Metric Gaming in January 2025.
We have never been huge fans of white-label solutions, especially Playbook Gaming, so Betzone deserves a lot of credit for going out on its own. Metric Gaming is a fairly new provider still, only powering one sportsbook prior to Betzone (in the Netherlands), but the giant GiG is also involved in the technology of the site - which is good news.
That being said, now that there are no true sister sites of Betzone, punters might be wondering where to look if they want a similar bookie. We will cover that below, but first let's take a look at what the new Betzone does well.
First of all, major kudos to Betzone for leaving the Playbook Gaming umbrella and launching a revamped site. While still in its infancy, the sportsbook looks more appealing than the old one and there seems to be better market depth as well. Best odds guaranteed is also offered for horse racing, while it seems more promotions will be added in due course.
That being said, with the site being new, there are some things to work on. Like before, there is a lack of payment methods, with only debit cards accepted. Furthermore, there is no welcome offer at the time of writing, which will be a huge con for many. We have to assume that the latter will be added very soon.
Below, we take a look at three suitable alternatives for Betzone, with a focus on bookies that at least share some similarities. Furthermore, these are bookies that we like a lot and recommend joining either way.
Sticking with 'smaller' betting sites for now, Fitzdares is a great option for UK punters. The brand has been around for a long time but the online product is still relatively fresh, hitting the market in 2018. Similarly to Betzone, the bookie obtained its own licence and partnered up with FSB Technology for the sportsbook.
Horse racing is the main focus of the site, given the nature of the brand, and there is live streaming for most of the races. Best odds guaranteed is offered for plus members, which anyone can apply for, and this adds more of an exclusive feel. The betting app is also very good, while the withdrawal times are very fast.
NetBet is another relatively new betting site, launching in 2017, and it has made great strides since. Ray Parlour is one of the brand ambassadors and the welcome offer has also helped quite a bit, with more and more punters signing up. Like Betzone, it is a bookie that covers everything from football to cricket, with no real niche.
We had a bit of a snafu when we tested the bookie, resulting in the withdrawal being delayed. However, after everything was sorted with customer support (very helpful) it took just 6 hours for the money to arrive. We were also quite impressed with the sportsbook thanks to good market depth, low betting margins, many promotions and so on.
We want to end with a more established bookie, namely BetMGM. It was actually launched after the aforementioned bookies, but the reputation in the States as well as the backing of LeoVegas in the UK means it is very solid. Not to mention that the welcome offers have brought in tons of new customers.
The sportsbook is very comprehensive, with live streaming even offered for some events/sports, and the bet builder is one of the best around. We tested the withdrawal times as well and got the money after just four hours, which is a good result indeed. Overall, BetMGM is a very solid bookie to join.
New betting sites are often synonymous with welcome offers, as punters look to find deals they are yet to claim, but Betzone's sister sites are not the best for this purpose.
