Mo Salah, the league’s standout player this season, finds himself at the top of the charts for goals scored, having netted a remarkable 21 so far. He stretched his lead at the top of the rankings after a delightful brace in a potential banana skin of a game for Liverpool, as they came out victorious at Bournemouth at the weekend.
In a fluent as well as forward-thinking Liverpool side that has looked unstoppable at times, he has been able to continue the excellent form we have seen in recent years and thrive under new coach, Arne Slot.
He has been involved in 32 of the 54 goals the Reds have scored in the division up to this point, as they top the charts for shots on target per 90 (6.9), big chances created so far (96) and xG accumulated after 22 games played (52.2).
This almost guarantees that Salah is nowhere near his finishing tally, it’s just whether it will be enough with the race tighter than ever. After his triumphs, his odds sit at 4/5 to claim his fourth top goalscorer award.
What more can be said about the Norwegian goal-scoring machine? He yet again finds himself amongst the leading scorers in the league, despite a season of struggle so far for Manchester City.
Although he has often found himself isolated in the reigning champion's side, his eye for goal and lethal nature in the 18-yard box means he doesn't need the plethora of chances - shown by his average of just 22 touches per game this season.
After 24 games played (one more than Salah's total) he has netted a hugely impressive 19 goals, two behind the Egyptian's tally. His odds are at 11/10 to topple Liverpool's star man.
With Manchester City's activity in the transfer window just passed, the hope and expectation is that they will begin to show signs of the side that won four Premier League titles on the bounce. If this were to happen, it's almost guaranteed to result in even more Haaland involvement and subsequent goals.
To collect the award this season would be yet another incredible achievement to add to his catalogue and would also, again, put him amongst the league's greats.
A third Golden Boot in three years would equal a Premier League record for most won in consecutive years, with Thierry Henry and Alan Shearer the only two to accomplish this feat.
Alexander Isak found himself well in the conversation for Golden Boot this season, reaching heights never seen from the Swedish forward before. He's currently on 17/2 odds to bring the award back to the North East.
Before December came around, Isak was struggling as Newcastle United seemed to be slightly stagnating on their journey to compete at the top of English football. But that all turned on its head as since the start of December, Isak has scored 13 Premier League goals accumulating his overall tally to 17 for the season.
Interestingly enough, he has the least minutes played between the four players highlighted in this article with 1804. Haaland leads this statistic with 2126 minutes, Salah on 2034 and Wood on 1928.
He bagged a total of 21 in the league last season, so he's only four behind that count. With 14 games left to play, he's sure to set a personal record but he will have to smash that record by a convincing distance if he wants his name on the coveted Golden Boot this year.
Very much an outside call, Chris Wood is enjoying his best-ever goal-scoring return at a high-flying Nottingham Forest, but the odds are surprisingly long at 33/1.
The 33-year-old has netted an immensely impressive 17 goals this season as he seems to suit the Forest system perfectly, much to the delight of his boss, Nuno Espirito Santo.
Whenever Forest find themselves in goal-scoring positions, which these days is very often, Wood is the focal point and the target to aim towards for the dynamic wingers and the eccentric Morgan Gibbs White.
If Forest manage to keep up the form that has taken the league by storm, they will have Chris Wood to thank for it.
The stats favour Wood, as he has accumulated the least shots and is over-performing his xG more than the others detailed. He has only had 45 shots on goal, 19 less than the next fewest in this list of forwards, that player being Isak (64). Way below the leader in this area, Haaland (93).
In terms of his xG, he has amassed 10.3 across his 24 games, scoring 17, meaning an overperformance of a staggering 6.7. Far out in front of Salah's 2.7.
He’s bound to be up there come the end of the campaign, with the statistics corroborating this statement. However, with the question over Forest's capabilities to continue their league-storming form, it's unsure as to whether Wood's goals will continue to fly in, but it would be silly to rule him out at this stage.
