The Premier League is back for another season of drama, despair, and glory, and at Betting Lounge, we cannot wait for the season to begin for so many reasons. As fans, and as punters, this season looks like it could be a fantastic one.
Manchester City are looking to win their fifth Premier League title in a row, whereas Arsenal are looking to prevent it for the third season in a row, but will they be successful? At the bottom end of the table, is the drop awaiting one of last season's members, or will the new boys be heading back down?
All this and more, in our Premier League season preview.
Betting on the Premier League title is difficult because you have to weigh up a few things. Unfortunately, I think this season will follow a similar trend as the past few years, where two teams have dominated the title race, and I think this will continue again this year.
Of course, those teams are Manchester City - who are currently best priced at 6/4 - and Arsenal - who are currently best priced at 15/8, and I don't think there will be any credible challengers to the duo this season. Perhaps, there could be some contenders throughout the season, but I don't think there will be a credible third challenger.
Let's start with the Champions, Manchester City. The Citizens are up there with the best teams in Premier League history, they have one of the best coaches, and you can give this analogy for several of City's players. Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones, Erling Haaland, the list goes on.
After winning the last four league titles, you cannot look past Guardiola's team, and no one is, and quite frankly, why would you? They have not lost any of their integral players, and knowing the Spaniard, he has probably formulated a brand new game plan to shock the league.
Then we have the other Spanish mastermind, Mikel Arteta and his Arsenal team. For the past two, if not three, seasons, they have been the only notable challengers to City, and I don't think there will be any changes to that trend this season.
Last year, the Gooners took the division to the wire and Arteta will be aiming to take his team one step further now. There has only been one addition made during the window - Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna - however, in a way that his mentor will have taught, Arteta probably has a few tricks up his sleeve.
At the time of this post, Manchester City are the bookies' favourites to win the Premier League with odds of 6/4 with Ladbrokes, Arsenal follow shortly after with odds of 15/8, Liverpool are the next preferred choice at 7/1.

If you have read our other previews, we have looked at teams to get promoted in these areas, but in the Premier League this is obviously not a possibility, but betting on 'Top 4' finishes is an available selection, and so let's dive into a few teams.
We have already covered Arsenal and Manchester City, so there will probably only be two other teams to make up to Top 4. However, several teams can put forward cases for finishing in the Champions League places.
Looking to other teams, I think that Manchester United could be in with a chance of Champions League football. The Red Devils showed signs of brilliance in the latter parts of last season, and with trust in Erik ten Hag somewhat reinstalled from the management, I think they could push on this season.
Away from United, I then like the look of Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool. However, I have doubt about both. Spurs were fantastic at the start of last season, and showed glimpses throughout the rest of the season, but never reached the same levels, perhaps, they can be more consistent this year, especially if they land a new striker. Then, you cannot write off Liverpool, under Arne Slot there is potential for huge growth, but whether they can make that step immediately, is difficult to call.
Both teams have immense quality, but there are things about both which unsettle me, at least currently. However, I feel they are 'smarter' or 'safer' bets than some of the other teams.
The teams in question are Chelsea, Newcastle and Aston Villa. With the Blues, there are heaps of problems at Stamford Bridge, they have spent eye-watering amounts and we're still yet to see it fully come together, and I'm not sold on Enzo Maresca as a 'Top 4' coach, at least not yet.
Villa and Newcastle also present issues for me. Starting with Villa, they have recruited brilliantly, but I don't know if they will continue to progress, and the same can be said about the Magpies. After a step back last season, I'm unsure whether they can reclaim a Champions League spot.
At the time of this post, Manchester City and Arsenal are the favourites to finish within the Premier League's top 4 at odds of 1/8 and 11/50, respectively. However, the odds for other teams can be found below.

The relegation picture this season is really tricky to call this season, because there are probably five teams that will be in the picture, and I feel there are two spots to take - which we'll get to. However, the Premier League often delivers shocks, so perhaps the relegation battle will offer us one.
In my eyes, the dead cert to get relegated is Leicester City, and there are several reasons for this. During last season, there were rumblings about a potential points deduction awaiting the Foxes on their Premier League return, and whilst there hasn't been an update yet, it is expected to be a major one, and I just think it'll be too much for them to deal with, so for me, the drop awaits them.
After Leicester, there's not really a standout in my brain because there are a few teams that could struggle.
Arguments can be made about Ipswich and Southampton, and whether they have the quality in their team to stay up, and you can argue that both have some factors that could see them stay in the division past next season. Both teams have fantastic managers, and they have built upon last season's foundations, rather than starting afresh.
However, in both cases, you have to question if they have enough strength to step up to the top division.
Then, there is Nottingham Forest and Everton. The Reds, I feel, are a team that are still yet to embrace the step up to the Premier League, and I think their team still has weak points. Looking at Everton, they are a team with seemingly constant problems, but they have a fantastic manager in Sean Dyche. Either way, I think they'll be involved at the bottom end in some capacity.
At the time of writing, Leicester are the bookies' favourite to be relegated from the Premier League this season, with some bookies offering prices of 2/5 for them to face the drop.

At the tail end of last season, Crystal Palace were one of the best teams in the division, and although they have lost Michael Olise they have made some nice additions over the summer, and I think they can continue last season's form and record a top half finish, and the price is particularly generous.
