Luke Littler comes into this year's World Championship as the Bookie's favourite after backing up his spectacular run to last year's Final with an incredible debut season as a professional. Littler’s first season on the Pro Tour has been quite remarkable.
He has won 10 senior PDC titles, including the Premier League, Grand Slam, and World Series Finals. This season, he has hit four nine darters, two of which have been televised. His most recent was in the Premier League final at the 02 arena against Luke Humphries.
Unsurprisingly this also set a new record as the youngest player to hit a televised 9 dart leg. He’s risen into the World's top 5 in the rankings and will go into this year's World Championship as the 4th seed, a truly remarkable feat for the 17-year-old.
His odds are short, quite rightly, but it's very hard to ignore a player with his incredible ability.

Luke Humphries comes into this tournament as the defending champion. He has the chance to write himself into the history books and become the fourth player to defend a PDC World Championship.
He is currently the World Number 1 after accumulating a staggering £1,804,250 in prize money over the last 2 years, almost £1 million more than World Number 2, Michael Smith.
This incredible run of form has seen Humphries dominate the world of darts, winning a mind-blowing 8 TV events in the last two years. He has had another stunning season in major tournaments, with wins coming at the World Cup of Darts, World Matchplay, and Players Championship Finals.
Humphries is the second favourite to win this year, which shows how much further Littler and Humphries are from the rest of the field right now.

Gary Anderson is the bookmakers 3rd favourite to win this year's World Championship. He comes to Alexandra Palace looking extremely dangerous after looking back to his very best for most of this season.
Winning three tournaments this year, most notably his victory at the European Darts Grand Prix in April. Anderson is ranked number 1 on the averages over the past 12 months 99.41, emphasising his magnificent recapture of form.
The Flying Scotsman is a previous back-to-back winner of this tournament, and his record of 51 wins at Alexandra Palace is bettered only by Michael Van Gerwen.
Although not having the best of years in TV Majors, his best being a semi-final at the Grand Slam, you certainly can never write off Anderson at the World Championships.

Chris Dobey has had a magnificent season on the pro tour, winning 3 Players Championship events and £98,000 in prize money. This led to him entering the Players Championship Finals in Minehead as the number one seed.
He’s ranked 4 in the averages over the last 12 months, 97.41, and although Dobey hasn't had the greatest of years in TV majors he's proved his pedigree at the World Championships with back-to-back Quarterfinals in the last 2 years.
However, he did lose from 4-0 up in sets 5-4 to Rob Cross last year, which will, of course, still hurt. He looked great last year, though, and hopefully, the way in which he was eliminated won't play on his mind too much. He comes here looking to avenge that loss.
‘Hollywood’ has previously won on TV at the 2023 Masters, which also earned him a wildcard pick for the 2023 Premier League.
The odds on Chris Dobey by the bookmakers are far too big, in my opinion, for someone of his experience and calibre on TV, and I think it could certainly be too high to ignore.
