Hull City are in the market for a new head coach following the sacking of Tim Walter, after just 18 games in charge. His Tigers team were winless in their last nine league games, and had lost the last four on the bounce.
A 2-0 home loss against Sheffield Wednesday was enough for Acun Ilicai and his board to pull the plug and relieve the German of his duties. Hull currently sit in 22nd place, on 15 points and occupying a relegation spot.
Eyebrows were raised when Walter was appointed, but mainly for the fact he came in as a replacement for Liam Rosenior, who was sacked following what many saw as a decent season, as they narrowly missed out on the play-offs in their last campaign.
Let's go over the favourites to replace Tim Walter and the odds for each manager.
Mark Robins is the favourite amongst most bookies to take the Tigers’ reigns. Like Rosenior, he too was on the end of a rather harsh sacking, when Coventry City ended his seven-year stint at the Sky Blues in early November.
In his second and most recent spell as manager, Robins took Coventry from League Two to The Championship, even winning the EFL Trophy on the way. He was very highly regarded and many fans were and still are outraged at his sacking.
Placed at 3/1 by Parimatch, BetVictor and talkSPORT BET, he looks a shoe-in to take the Hull job and it’s expected he would get them up and running this season. He would be a fantastic acquisition for any Championship club.

The former Plymouth boss and more recently of Stoke City, Schumacher is another who departed his former club under strange circumstances. He was sacked in September after a sub-par start, but many thought he hadn’t been bad enough to warrant dismissal.
The Potters had spent big in the summer and Sporting Director Jon Walters made the decision he believed best served his teams ‘long-term interests’. After his impressive spell at Plymouth, he looked a fantastic appointment for Stoke at the time.
Sacked after two wins in just five this season, he is in the hunt for a new job. He is placed at 4/1 by BetVictor, Parimatch and talkSPORT BET, he provides decent value as the second favourite.

Moving onto an outside shout, Damien Duff is third most likely to take over at the MKM Stadium according to the bookies. The former Chelsea, Newcastle and Fulham winger would prove an intriguing appointment by Hull City.
The Irishman is the current manager of Shellbourne in the League Of Ireland Premier Division. The Shels won the LOI title for the first time in nearly 20 years this season under Duff’s management.
Most bookies have him placed around 10/1, and should Hull look to appoint a lesser known entity than a Shumacher or a Robins, he could prove a decent value bet for punters favouring a more bold approach.

Also placed at 10/1 is Ismail Kartal, three-time Fenerbache coach who would only add to the Turkish links which exist at the club. His side finished second in the Super Lig last season and he decided to step down at the end of the season.
Two more former Stoke bosses, Alex Neil and Nathan Jones both sit at a massive 20/1 at most bookies. The pair are experienced in the Championship and may look a safe and steady option for any struggling second flight side.
