Everything is happening in League Two at the moment, and there is a fantastic set-up to the end of the season already shaping up, after only seven games. In fact, only five points separate first and 13th.

Even towards the bottom of the league, things are interesting, with only a five-point gap in place from 14th to 24th.

Well, That's Something

Well, this weekend was interesting. Since our last update on Matchday Five, the odds have moved around a lot, and there is a quickly lessening amount of faith in the two favourites to get the job done this season.

MK Dons were the leading choices for promotion and they have lost their past two games. Both games were against promotion challengers, Walsall and then Grimsby this weekend. To make things worse, both games were at home.

Had they won both games, they would have topped the league by two points. But that's life, isn't it? They are still favourites, but their price is quickly drifting out and they are again level with the second favourites.

Those being Chesterfield, who also didn't have a great weekend, following last weekend's draw with a loss against 10-man Walsall. They are still in the play-offs and are only a few points off the top spot. However, there is a lack of confidence with both.

So, we move to third favourites, who are Grimsby Town. After their cup win against Manchester United, their odds shot up, after a strong start in League Two anyway. Of course, their win against the Dons has now drastically improved things.

Additionally, a shout has to go to the leaders Gillingham, who are on 15 points and are without a single league defeat so far. In fact, their draw this weekend prevented Bromley from also getting their first draw of the campaign. A strong result, indeed, for Gareth Ainsworth and that 18/1 price with three E/W places is somewhat tempting.

Bit Busy Isn't It

Looking at the table is something, and this is where these posts become challenging. Where do you cut off each section! Nevertheless, let's just dive straight into things and take a look at the different teams.

Swindon and Walsall are both in the same position effectively, winning four of their last five games, and sitting second and third with 15 points. The former beat Barrow convincingly this weekend away from home, whilst Walsall got the more impressive result, arguably.

At home, with 10 men, they managed to get three points against a strong Chesterfield side who many have tipped for an automatic spot at the very least. It is a huge three points and strengthens their position massively.

Bromley deserve a fair whack of credit too, having not lost a game so far and their 2-2 draw with Gillingham is a really big result. They are in a really strong place currently, with 13 points accumulated so far.

The list of teams on 13 stretches to four, with Crewe and Salford joining Bromley and Chesterfield. However, it was a mixed bag for the former duo. Crewe picked up a draw at Colchester, whilst Salford got a nice three points at home to Tranmere.

It feels harsh listing so many teams briefly, but there are 13 teams that could feasibly be in the play-offs in two games' time. Things are constantly changing, and that potentially offers us a chance to look at some value.

For example, Gillinham are 5/4 for a 'Top Seven' place come May, whilst Salford City are also priced nicely at 7/5. Elsewhere, Fleetwood at 4/1 isn't a terrible price, even if more is wanted from them.

Dire Look Already

Things are not looking great for a few teams at the bottom, already, and it starts with Cheltenham who are bottom of the league and pointless.

A 1-0 loss to Barnet, who finished the game with 10 men, is a terrible result, especially at home. However, it is nothing new; it is the 11th goal they have conceded and their fifth straight loss. Saying it is a bad run does not come close.

This is where I'd normally try to find positives about the side, and say they can maybe start to claw things back. However, I am already quite worried about their position this season, and it is only five games in.

Shrewsbury and Crawley were both on the end of defeats again, and their singular point tallies are not looking fantastic. The former were a favourite to go down, but the latter's position after relegation from League One is looking problematic.

Accrington Stanley are the last team in that 'pack' as such, as they sit in 21st, just a point above the aforementioned duo. Ahead of them is Bristol Rovers, who are on four points, so there is a slight gap already being formed.

With that said, it is very early to be saying that.
