League One: Huddersfield in Danger as Playoff Teams Smell Blood - Odds Watch

With neither of the top two playing at the weekend, our focus is on the playoffs, and the big movers in recent weeks are Huddersfield Town who are very gradually losing their play-off strength.

Birmingham Do Not Lose Ground

Despite the fact that Birmingham did not play at the weekend, they are probably in a stronger position than ever. Going toe to toe with Newcastle in the FA Cup will give the side another boost, not that Chris Davies' side needed it...

Wycombe did not play this weekend, so they have not 'caught up' so to speak, for now, Birmingham remain top of the pile, and they are showing no signs of that changing, but have they at all this season?

Huddersfield in Huge Danger of Falling Off

With Wycombe not playing, we can't really say too much about their chances, however, their odds of promotion have moved a little. Some bookmakers have seen the Chairboys' price drift, elsewhere they have been more backed in.

Wrexham also did not play at the weekend, with their home fixture against Leyton Orient being postponed due to the FA Cup. Once again, it is difficult to say anything about their situation as a result.

Shooting up behind them though is Stockport, who have been phenomenal since the turn of the year. A home win against Barnsley is a massive result for Dave Challinor's side, and there are no signs of them slowing down just yet.

They are continuing to shorten in price for promotion and a top-six place, and if they continue at their current pace, it would be daft not to start believing that Challinor is one of the best coaches in the division.

Huddersfield then sit next in fifth, and their form is a real concern now if it was not already. The Terriers have not won in over a month now, and whilst a draw against Reading is not necessarily a bad result, the context of it means that it is.

Failing to win at home since Boxing Day is worrying, and with goals hard to come by despite some big January investments, there are definitely some fears in West Yorkshire.

Charlton and Bolton both gained three points at the weekend against Stevenage and Crawley, respectively, and both will be looking to pounce on any mistakes ahead of them, with both in some really impressive form.

Leyton Orient could provide a nice bet for a top-six place, considering they have two games in hand on some teams in the playoffs, and with just five points between them and the struggling Terriers, there is room for a shakeup.

Strugglers Remain Too Unpredictable

The relegation scene is equally as difficult to call because you have had quite a few strugglers this season, who all now seem to be picking up points on a semi-regular basis.

Cambridge still sit bottom of the division currently, but they have only lost one of their last five games, and are picking up some big points it must be said. A draw against Lincoln is not a spectacular result, but it still is a good one for the struggling U's.

From a somewhat boring draw to the game of the weekend, Bolton edged Crawley to a 4-3 win at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, and whilst the Wanderers are a top side, scoring three is a decent achievement. However, the conceding issue is not fading, and the Red Devils are certainly in a bit of a precarious situation.

Shrewsbury picked up another win, this time at Rotherham, which is a huge result considering where the Millers are and more so when considering that the Shrews went ahead after conceding just a minute prior.

Burton Albion have also seen somewhat of a dramatic turnaround in the past few weeks, now unbeaten in five, and considering where the bookmakers had them recently, they are fighting valiantly.

I still have my concerns for Peterborough United, who are not picking up points nearly quickly enough compared to those at the bottom of the division, so I'm keeping an eye on their price.
