The 2025 PDC season is back in full swing after Stephen Bunting's victory at last week's Bahrain Masters. This week we head to Maaspoort in Den Bosch for the second World Series event of the year and the third edition of the Dutch Darts Masters where 16 players will compete over two days.
Reigning champion Michael van Gerwen will make his return to competitive action after missing Bahrain following a family holiday in Thailand. He will face Dutch compatriot Dirk Van Duijvenbode in the first round which looks to be a possible banana skin for the potentially rusty world number 3.
Stockport star, Nathan Aspinall will play the impressive Kevin Doets, whilst Rob Cross plays World Series debutant Richard Veenstra.
The iconic Dutchman and Five-time World Champion Raymond van Barneveld returns to the big stage in Holland but faces a very tough game against recent World Championship semi-finalist, Chris Dobey.
Last week's finalist Gerwyn Price will play former UK Open champion Danny Noppert and World Number 1 Luke Humphries plays the in-form Jermaine Wattimena.
After his victory in Bahrain last week, Stephen Bunting comes here as the number 1 seed but faces a difficult task against World Youth Champion Gian van Veen.
Finally, the reigning World Champion and teenage star, Luke Littler will play the current UK Open champion, Dimitri Van den Bergh.
This looks set to be a very competitive encounter, and I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a shock here. Stephen Bunting is in fantastic form after a brilliant semi-final run at the World Championship.
He then followed that up with a brilliant tournament in Bahrain, beating Gerwyn Price in the final. Gian van Veen was disappointing at the World Championship, but he's still so young and inexperienced on the big TV stage.
His A-game is good enough to compete with anyone in world darts though, so I can see this match potentially going the distance.
It all depends on the Dutchman tonight and if he relishes the pressure of playing in front of his home crowd and settles quickly then he won't make it easy for the number 1 seed.

Gerwyn Price looks back to his best right now and it is looking more and more likely he will win a big TV tournament again soon. He was incredible at times in Bahrain, highlighted by his 6-2 demolition of Luke Littler with a 115.31 average. Price hit 7 maximums in that match and it looks like he has found his scoring boots again which was always such a vital part of his game. He ultimately lost in the Final to Stephen Bunting 8-4 but Price only had a 31% finishing rate in that match and if he improves that then he will no doubt be a threat at this tournament.
Danny Noppert continues to be very consistent on tour and although he had a poor World Championship losing in his first match against Ryan Joyce he still had another very good season. For me, he continues to go under the radar and although he's now slipped to 13th in the World Rankings, the Dutchman is still a threat for anybody when he's on form.
I just can't see past Gerwyn Price in this match though and the odds look way too tempting after how he played in Bahrain. Noppert won't make it easy for him though and I expect him to be very competitive.

As I said previously, I think Price is close to winning a TV tournament and 10/1 is way too big for the way he's playing. The Welshman was brilliant at times at the World Championship and has continued that form into this season after a run to the Bahrain Masters final.
From a player's point of view it just looks as if he's dusting the rustiness off after skipping so many events over the past couple of years and playing more and winning games always creates confidence.
The biggest factor for Price is whether he's enjoying the Sport and for now, it looks as though he's rekindled his love back for darts, highlighted by the fact he accepted a Premier League wildcard after previously stating he wouldn't play in it.

The 4 fold on match winners is a great price as I can't see any of them being troubled too much. MVG perhaps is the only dodgy one just because of his lack of playing time after a family holiday in Thailand, but he was superb in the World Championship so I expect him to have too much for van Duijvenbode.
