People often say the Championship is the most exciting league in the world and this weekend, it has been proved once again. From top to bottom, everything is happening so let's dive into the latest odds.
We have seen three teams fight for the title so far this season, but in recent weeks Sunderland have been making a push to make it a four-team fight. For this reason, Monday night's fixture between the top of the pack and the bottom of it was a must-watch.
Whilst the hosts dominated, it was Sunderland that actually led for the majority of the game through a first-half goal, but a late brace (including a 95th-minute winner) from Pascal Struijk gave the Whites a huge three points at Elland Road.
At the top, it means that the Peacocks retain first place with a two-point advantage still in place - though if they had drawn they would still be top on goal difference.
For Sunderland though, there is now an eight-point gap to second place and a 10-point gap to Leeds, so you have to feel that their title chances, if they existed before, are now gone.
Sheffield United also gained a huge three points this weekend, beating Luton Town 1-0 at Kenilworth Road which serves as another really big win. Despite my doubts, the Blades are pushing along really strongly.
Finally, Burnley continued their unbeaten streak against Preston, though unlike the top two, they could only draw. A frustrating result considering everything above them, but they have a three-point gap to Sunderland now, which offers a little bit of safety.
Below, we have collected the top contenders and their respective odds to win the championship title in the 2024/25 season.
Six teams are hoping for a place in the promotion places at the end of the season and given we have covered four teams already, it is pointless to then cover the same teams in this area, so we're going to look at fourth and below.
It is so difficult to assess where things are in the playoffs because it is an absolute chaos zone. There are just seven points separating 15th place and 6th, and we are in for a superb end to the season it seems.
Blackburn Rovers, despite the exit of John Eustace, managed to win another game on the bounce and they have gained a bit of safety in the area, which will serve as a huge relief, at least for now! The next appointment must be spot on and there are some interesting names linked.
West Brom could not get themselves back to winning ways, but they have remained in the top six somehow, though I am getting quite concerned about their chances from here on out. They have a talented team, but the Baggies, like everyone, seem a little too inconsistent.
Coventry then follow next, and my top six shout from a few weeks ago is looking better every week, and they are now a very good shout for a place in the playoffs.
Elsewhere, Middlesbrough are now sitting in 11th, but with a game in hand, they could return to knocking on the playoffs door. It is certainly showing to be an exciting race and things can change very quickly.
Below, we have collected the top contenders and their respective odds to win promotion in the 2024/25 Championship season.

Luton's place at the bottom of the league is looking really, really bad if it wasn't already. They have massively failed to live up to expectations this season, and though a loss to Sheffield United is not a massive worry. Kenilworth Road has normally been a tough place to go to, and this has changed now.
Plymouth's defeat to Blackburn will not cause too much worry I'd say, considering Rovers are in a very weird place currently. However, the bookmakers are still not confident about their chances of safety...
Derby also are situated within the bottom three after a first defeat under John Eustace, certainly not the start that he would have hoped for in his new role. However, the next few weeks will be absolutely vital.
We finish with the teams just outside the relegation zone, and Stoke and Portsmouth both lifted themselves a little with wins at the weekend. Ah the Championship, so, so unpredictable.
Below, we have collected the top contenders and their respective odds to be relegated in the 2024/25 Championship season.
