The 2025 BetMGM Premier League Darts moves onto night 8 at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle. Hometown hero Chris Dobey headlines tonight as he looks to capitalize on breaking his six-match losing streak last week in Cardiff.
After Newcastle United ended their 70-year wait for a domestic trophy a few weeks ago, the atmosphere looks set to be extra special for the Bedlington star and he'll be desperate to put on a show in front of his adoring Geordie fans.
Luke Littler lit up the Cardiff stage last week to motor past the field and claim his third nightly title of the season. The teenager created more history by becoming the first player to hit a nine-darter on TV by finishing on double 15.
Littler has now extended his lead at the top of the Premier League table to six points as he looks to dominate the league phase for the second year running.
Luke Littler was superb once again last week as he claimed another nightly title to extend his lead at the top of the Premier League table. He averaged 107.67 to beat Rob Cross 6-2 in the semi-final and then hit 10 180s and averaged 112.50 in a 6-4 victory in the final against Michael van Gerwen.
Littler is averaging 104 across all legs played in the 2025 Premier League and legs throwing for the match it's 114 which shows his remarkable ruthlessness to finish off a contest.
Stephen Bunting is first on again tonight after another disappointing night in Cardiff last week. 'The Bullet' squandered numerous early chances at doubles to gain the early advantage against Chris Dobey before succumbing to a seventh consecutive Premier League defeat.
11% on doubles (2/17) and an 87.05 average is nowhere near good enough and it's not getting any easier for him tonight as he faces Luke Littler.
Both these players should be fairly fresh after they decided to skip Euro Tour 2 in Germany over the weekend but I can't see past anything but a Luke Littler victory.
It's never easy finding value in a match between the top and bottom of the table but the match treble is particularly appealing especially as Littler won with the most 180s and highest checkout in all three of his matches last week in Cardiff.
Littler has a running average of 104 in this year's Premier League and has averaged over 103.5 in four of his last six matches in the tournament.

Gerwyn Price was left heartbroken after Rob Cross took out 170 in the deciding leg in Cardiff to deny the Welshman a victory in front of his home crowd. These two will battle it out again tonight in a repeat of the quarter-final last week.
'The Iceman' has had an inconsistent few weeks in the Premier League and has now lost his opening match in three of the past four weeks, but he did win night 6 in Nottingham between that. He played well in Cardiff and averaged 97.10 but was made to rue missed chances as Cross snatched the victory away. Last week's result will certainly hurt Price, and he will be out to avenge that defeat tonight.
Rob Cross has also been inconsistent during his 2025 Premier League campaign but there have been signs of brilliance, highlighted by his clutch 170 finish in Cardiff. He got away with it last week against Price and averaged just 89.40 during that win. He then lost to Luke Littler in the semi-final but played well averaging 99.80.
I'd suggest avoiding predicting the result here as there's plenty of value elsewhere. Rob Cross has hit over 2.5 180s in three of his previous four matches in the PDC, including 3 against Andrew Gilding on the Euro Tour, 3 against Price, and 4 against Littler last week so the value looks very appealing for him to do the same again tonight.
I also like the look of this match going over 9.5 legs, especially as last week ended 6-5. With both players looking for results, I expect it to be another tense affair that could go the distance again.

Luke Humphries had another disappointing night in Cardiff and has now lost his last three quarter-final matches after winning night 4. He hasn't played that badly though, averaging 101.93 against Michael van Gerwen last week, 98.97 against Luke Littler, and 98 against Rob Cross who averaged 111 to beat him.
I don't think he'll be panicking just yet but his results have been concerning with a first-round defeat at Euro Tour 1 and a quarter-final drubbing 6-1 to Nathan Aspinall at Euro Tour 2 last week.
Chris Dobey finally broke his six-match losing streak in this year's Premier League but he was fortunate to get over the line during a scrappy match against the winless Stephen Bunting. You can probably forgive him for being nervous during that match as both players were desperate for a win.
He then lost 6-1 to MVG in the semi-final averaging just 82.28, the lowest average of any player in this year's Premier League. Dobey also lost his opening match at Euro Tour 2 on Friday 6-4 to Jermaine Wattimena who averaged 111 but he didn't play badly himself, averaging 101 so he's perhaps just waiting for that bit of luck to go his way.
This is another match where I'd stay away from predicting the winner simply because Humphries's odds are way too short for my liking. Over 9.5 legs looks fantastic value here though, especially as 10 of Luke's last 11 matches in the Premier League have all been over 9.5 legs, including the last six in a row.

Michael van Gerwen finally reached his first nightly final of the 2025 Premier League and showed some very positive signs. A 6-4 win and a 104.04 average against Luke Humphries in the quarter-final will be very satisfactory for the green machine.
He followed that up with a 6-1 demolition of an under-par Chris Dobey in the semi-final. He averaged 101.41 in the final against Luke Littler but the teenager was just too good as he averaged 112.50.
The Dutchman is third in the table and just two points behind Humphries in second so even though he will be disappointed with his progress so far this campaign, he's still in a very good position to make the Playoffs in London after winning six of his seven quarter-finals this year.
Nathan Aspinall won his first European Tour Title in Gottingen last weekend after 10 years of trying. He demolished Luke Humphries 6-1 with a 106.72 average in the quarter-finals which highlights his recent resurgence. He will be hoping to transfer that form onto the Premier League stage after losing his opening match in back-to-back weeks.
This will be a close match with both players looking in better form and although MVG beat Aspinall at this stage on night 6, the value looks very hard to ignore for an Asp victory and he'll be riding high after winning his maiden Euro Tour title just 5 days ago.
