Lukas Wenig has done remarkably well to get through his group on debut after wins against Jonny Clayton and Cam Crabtree.
The German has struggled on tour this season and has only made it past the third round three times in all competitions.
He did, however, have a fantastic run to the final of PC23 earlier in the year, and he'll need to find that form to get the better of his German compatriot tonight.
Niko Springer has made an impressive debut at the Grand Slam, with wins against Gary Anderson and Michael van Gerwen enough to see him through. He lost his last group game to Beau Greaves after being 3-0 up, but the crowd got on his back, and he lost 5 consecutive legs.
Springer’s 180 numbers have dropped off slightly in recent weeks, but earlier in the season, he was relentless with his scoring. Given a longer format, he’s likely to settle in and produce more maximums than Wenig.

This looks set to be an exciting Last 16 showdown between Josh Rock and Connor Scutt. Not long ago, this would have been a potential Premier League match, but the two have gone in different directions in their careers over the past 12 months
Rock has looked in excellent touch so far, cruising through the group stage with confidence and consistency. His scoring power and composure on the doubles make him one of the most dangerous players left in the tournament.
Scutt, on the other hand, has shown plenty of determination to earn his place in the knockout rounds. He’s proven he can handle the pressure in tight moments, and this match gives him the perfect chance to test himself against one of darts’ fastest-rising stars, after a tough year.
Both these players, when on top form, are maximum machines, with Rock certainly proving that lately. For me, I can see Scutt really testing the Northern Irishman tonight, as this is a bit of a free roll for him. So expect fireworks and plenty of maximums.

This match looks set to be a rivalry for many years to come, and a game that will be highly anticipated each time they meet, as two of the biggest scorers on the planet lock horns tonight.
Luke Littler and Wessel Nijman could easily hit 12 180s themselves in a best-of-19 match, so I don't really need to explain my reasoning too much for this selection. What fascinates me, though, is how Littler handles Nijman, because he is becoming a top player.
Nijman has been fabulous this season and is rapidly becoming an elite dart player, but he's still missing crucial doubles on the big stage. I've said before, it's only a matter of time before the Dutchman becomes more clinical, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him come through a tight contest tonight.

Michael van Gerwen has shown frailties of late, but showed his class with a clinical display to beat Gary Anderson 5-2. That was a prime MVG performance, and if he carries on that form, he can go deep in this tournament.
Noppert has been steady and reliable, showing once again why he’s one of the most consistent players on tour. He doesn’t get flustered easily and tends to grow into matches, so if Van Gerwen gives him chances, he’s more than capable of taking them.
This one should be a cracking match between two Dutchmen who know each other’s games really well. Van Gerwen is the clear favourite, but if Noppert can keep up early and take out a few big finishes, we could have a real battle on our hands.
This match is all about Michael, though; if he plays like he did against Anderson, he can breeze through this match with no problems.
