Luke Woodhouse is having a fabulous Grand Slam campaign, winning all three of his matches to come through a tricky group. Woody has beaten two players in the top 16, Stephen Bunting and Martin Schindler, and came through unscathed against the awkward Alexis Toylo.
This has been a very positive tournament for the Englishman, who is finding his form just at the right time of the season, and a win here would elevate him to a career-high world ranking.
Ricky Evans has played some of the best darts of his career over the past few weeks, and he finds himself in the knockout stages of the Grand Slam for the first time. Big wins against Gerwyn Price and Steffan Belmont saw him come through another very tough group.
Evans always seems to peak around this time of the year, ready for his favourite tournament at Ally Pally, and now that he has slowed down his pace just a little, he looks extremely dangerous on the big stage.
For me, Luke Woodhouse is the more consistent scorer in this contest. I'm not sure I'd want to back a winner here as it seems to me a 50/50 match, but the odds for Woody to have the most 180s look very enticing.

Gerywn Price has recovered brilliantly after losing his opening match of the group stage, 5-4 against Ricky Evans. Since then, The Iceman has lost just one leg, whitewashing James Wade 5-0 and defeating Stefan Bellmont 5-1. The Welshman is a three-time winner of this event, and I wouldn't be surprised if he goes on a run once again.
Martin Schindler has qualified for the knockout stage for the first time after five previous attempts. The German has never really settled on the big TV stage in his career, but he is the current world number 16, which shows how well he plays away from the TV cameras.
I fear for Schindler tonight because Price looks in one of those bullish moods, and when he looks like that, he's usually out to prove a point, and I think he'll come through this tie comfortably.

Luke Humphries will be relieved to have got through a potentially tough group, but in truth, he made it look fairly simple.
Wins against Alex Spellman, Michael Smith, and Nathan Aspinall saw him avoid a repeat of last year, when he failed to progress through the group stages.
The world number one looks in fantastic form, and he should take care of Jurjen van der Velde comfortably tonight. The young Dutchman has done extremely well to get through his group, but this looks a step too far this evening.

After a tough year on TV, Chris Dobey has found his rhythm again in this tournament, storming through his group with the loss of just three legs.
He meets an old foe tonight, though, who he lost to in a similar format at the World Matchplay in 2024, and will know he needs to be concentrated to navigate his way past Bully Boy.
After a torrid run that saw him miss the World Matchplay, Grand Prix, and European Championship, Michael Smith has finally made his return to the TV stage.
The former world champion has tumbled to 30th in the rankings after a nightmare stretch of injuries and poor form, but he’s rediscovered some spark this week, booking his place in the knockout rounds thanks to victories over Nathan Aspinall and Alex Spellman.
This is another match I'm going to stay away from predicting the result, simply because we still aren't sure what version of Michael Smith turns up.
The one thing I can be sure about, though, is this can turn into a 180 fest, so over 9.5 180s in a potential tight encounter looks very likely.
