England vs. Slovakia: Betting Tips Outlined

Below, we have picked out five betting tips for the game, listing where you can find the best odds for said bets and why they might be worth a punt.

bet365

Martin Dubravka to make Over 3.5 saves - 1/1 at Bet365

It is not a bold prediction that England will likely be on top in this fixture, but more on that later. In the tournament so far, Martin Dubravka has made around four saves per game on average, and in the Premier League, he averaged the same amount.

With England likely to pile the pressure on after recent criticism, I think that this offers some fantastic value, especially with it being knockout football, where the Three Lions normally pick up somewhat.

bet365

Under 8 Corners - 13/8 at Bet365

I know what you're thinking, here we go again with corners. However, this tournament we're three from three in this market, and we've landed some very nice odds each time. This time, we're returning to the safer line with less than eight corners, rather than lower.

In this tournament, England have not had a game with seven corners in, full stop, whereas Slovenia have had two. Nevertheless, the Three Lions have proved they are phenomenal at preventing corners, and I think Under 8 provides some great value once again.

BetVictor

Jude Bellingham to Score or Assist - 23/20 at BetVictor

Two of Slovakia's three goals conceded at this tournament have been from inside the penalty area. If - and it is a big if - England are at their best, they will look to Jude Bellingham for inspiration, who has proved all season to get into dangerous positions inside the box.

The past two games have been poor for the Real Madrid midfielder, but I think against Slovakia he could be granted more freedom, and we could see another performance like the first game, rather than the other two group games.

bet365

England to win at HT and FT - 6/5 at Bet365

In the qualification process, none of England's games finished 0-0 at half-time, so an early goal is not out of the question for the Three Lions. Both of their goals in the Euro 2024 group stage were also within the first 20 minutes.

With this in mind, I think looking at Gareth Southgate's squad to win both halves is very generous at 6/5, especially considering how much pressure there is on the squad to play in a better manner in this game.

BetMGM

Ondrej Duda to be Booked - 21/10 at BetMGM

In this tournament, calling cards has been difficult at the best of times, but I'm revisiting the market once again, and this time, we're hoping that we get a strike with it.

Looking over the game, I really like Ondrej Duda to be booked. He starts on the left side of Slovakia's midfield and often is tasked with dealing with the wide players, and Bukayo Saka could cause him a lot of problems. With 10 yellows in 32 Serie A games with Hellas Verona, this could be a very nice selection at some great odds.

England vs. Slovakia: Preview

England have left much to be desired in their opening three games of the European Championship, but as the cliche goes, knockout football is different, and let's hope for the Three Lions' sake it is.

England - Team News and Key Players

It is really difficult to describe Gareth Southgate's side's opening three games without being overly harsh. One of the favourites for the tournament have often looked timid and shackled, and this has hurt the Three Lions thus far.

Of course, there has to be a certain risk and reward debate, but it seems like England would be much happier to risk nothing in the hope of a reward rather than earning themselves a bit of luck by playing on the front foot for a prolonged period.

We cannot suggest that there have been no glimpses of quality in this tournament, but if England are to go all the way, they need to extend their glimpses to halves, if not games. We cannot refer to the first 45 minutes of the tournament before the semi-final if Southgate's men earn a place there.

Players like Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka, and Phil Foden have often seemed limited, and questions have arisen about the England curse once again, one where players are shoved into a system for the sake of talent rather than tactics, which is frustrating in itself.

There is a chance it clicks, as there is with anything, and England fans will be hoping the click showed three games ago. However, it has not, and now there is a need to show why the Three Lions are favourites for the tournament.

Fans are unhappy, and the press have picked up on this whilst also questioning other things in the system. Now is no longer a time for talking, instead, it is a time for action. If England leave Germany with a European trophy, the group stages can be forgotten in some respects, but many would suggest that fate will not await them under the current style of football.

It is all to play for, and fans have raised the expectation. England must now match it or risk showing early signs of becoming another 'What if?'

Siding with the favourites is at the narrowest price it has been all tournament, and you can find odds of around 2/5 if you think the Three Lions will progress to the Quarter Finals to face Switzerland.

Predicted England XI vs. Slovakia (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Walker, Stones, Guehi, Trippier; Mainoo, Rice; Saka, Bellingham, Foden; Kane

Slovakia - Team News and Key Players

A lot of people, myself included, did not expect Slovakia to get out of the group, and many saw them as the 'bottom-tier' team in the group. Nevertheless, an opening game win against Belgium quickly altered perceptions.

Not to a level where people are suggesting a Slovakia Euro 2024 trophy, but rather, people are aware of their qualities.

A rigid team, who have already created a shock and will cherish the opportunity to provide further is a dangerous opposition for any side, let alone an England side who have failed to massively wow people so far.

The Falcons have only lost one of their last six games, conceding four goals in this time, which is a fantastic representative of how difficult they can be to break down, and they will provide England with similar issues.

Their team is very compact, and they defend as a unit, which England have proved to struggle against, and this will only be a positive for the Slovakians. Therefore, you can expect Southgate's side to be frustrated heavily by the 'Away' side in this fixture.

History awaits the Slovakian team if they can beat England, and it would be their first time reaching the final eight of a major tournament, but they will not feel a pressure to deliver, instead, they will take joy from the situation.

There has been no pressure on them yet, and there will not be during Sunday's game, at least not from the fans. They have already made the fans proud, and anything now is a major bonus, regardless of what fate could await them.

If you are looking to side with the underdogs and think England's road will end and history will be made, you can find odds of 9/1 for Slovakia to prevail on Sunday evening.

Predicted Slovakia XI vs. England (4-3-3): Dubravka; Pekarik, Vavro, Skriniar, Hancko; Kucka, Lobotka, Duda; Schranz, Bozenik, Haraslin
