Monster Casino entered the UK market in 2017, operated by the well-known provider ProgressPlay. Most punters would agree that the provider is not the best, but how does Monster fare with its sportsbook? Our review takes a look at everything you need to know to decide whether to sign up or not.

Monster Sports is like many other ProgressPlay brands: underwhelming. The design of the site is shocking, to tell the truth, and winnings from the welcome offers are not only capped at £200 but must also be wagered once. Add the fact that Monster focuses more on casino and you have got yourself a perfect storm.
We have not even mentioned the 1% fee (up to £3) on withdrawals either, meaning there are more cons to take into account. That being said, Monster Sports does have a rather comprehensive sportsbook and perhaps the welcome offer could come into use for some. Perhaps for those who only want to bet a little on sports, but most play casino games.
Launched in 2017, Monster Casino lacks the brand recognition and reputation of some of the UK's largest online sportsbooks and casinos, but that means it is starting with a blank slate.
Monster Casino is operated by ProgressPlay Limited, which is responsible for a large number of sites in the UK. As the Monster Casino site uses the same format as many other PPL brands, it is likely to be very familiar to a lot of players in the UK as a result.
ProgressPlay is registered in Malta, like a lot of firms in the world of online betting, and the PPL organisation is licensed and regulated by Malta Gaming Authority. It is also licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission, more specifically under account number 39335.
Having said that, the Trustpilot reviews are not too kind on Monster Casino & Sports. Indeed, it has an average rating of just 1.5/5 stars and some of the complaints are about withdrawals, which is never a good sign. Then again, even some of the best betting sites in the UK have poor ratings, so keep that in mind.
Although Monster Casino clearly focuses on - you guessed it - casino games, there is a welcome offer for sports punters to claim. It is not one of the best offers around, that is for sure, but we are talking about a bet £10 get £30 deal. The caveats are that the potential winnings are capped at £200 and they must also be wagered 1x before they can be withdrawn.

Even though ProgressPlay has been around for a long time, we were still pleasantly surprised by the number of payment methods accepted by Monster Sports. Four different e-wallets are available on the site, as well as the increasingly popular Apple Pay, and the deposit process is smooth as well as easy.
However, despite having many payment methods, Monster Sports is let down by the fact that punters are charged 1% up to £3 on all withdrawals. If you withdraw £10, for example, you only get £9.90 and in our opinion this is very cheap behaviour by the bookie. As said, it is a shame given that the rest is good, even if the minimum amounts of £10 could also be lowered.

The Monster Casino sportsbook looks very similar to other ProgressPlay brands, with live in-play markets in a prominent position. While this makes some sense, it does mean that it might take users who are unused to PPL sites some time to hunt out the highest-profile betting markets of the day, while events of limited interest are presented on the front page of the sportsbook instead.
Toggling from the live tab to pre-match gives punters access to more than 2,000 different markets. Football is the main sport to bet on here, but there are plenty of choices when it comes to other sports such as horse racing, tennis and ice hockey as well.
Horse racing betting is sometimes a problem area for PPL sportsbooks and, at Monster Casino, there are only US meetings covered. Those who want to bet on races from the UK and Ireland, or even France, South Africa or Australia, will have to turn to the best horse racing sites.
There is also a lack of live streaming for the sport of kings. Most top sportsbooks in the UK now offer live streaming of horse racing events to their users, but there is no streaming at all on offer here just yet.
A typical match in the Premier League has over 400 different bets available, which includes everything from whether or not a penalty will be awarded in the match to various combo bets.
Most betting sites now cover esports to a decent degree and this is the case at the Monster Casino site too. Among the esports it is possible to bet on here include Dota 2, League of Legends, CS2 and Rainbow Six, as well as StarCraft II, Valorant and many more.
Specials are offered too. Betting on the outcome of the Oscars is always popular in the UK and this is among the different options up for grabs at the Monster Casino sportsbook. It is also possible to bet on the outcome of various reality TV shows such as Dancing on Ice and I'm a Celebrity, so those who want to bet on these types of markets will find Monster a solid choice.
Minor sports are also more widely available at the Monster Casino sportsbook when compared to a lot of other new sites. For example, users who join Monster Casino to bet on sports will find markets for everything from bandy and Greco-Roman wrestling to surfing, hurling and bowls.
White-label sites tend to have issues with customer support, especially if we are talking about a very templated provider. ProgressPlay is certainly that and Monster Sports is no different, even if live chat is available on the site 24/7. In reality, it can be difficult to get a hold of an agent, also because Monster Sports first utilises a chatbot.
Then again, this is nothing new and something most punters have become used to. But the fact remains that sites like Monster Casino should do a better job of serving their customers. Issues are more common are more common on less popular sites as well, so customer support could be needed for most.
