Hopa is a white label casino and sportsbook operated by White Hat Gaming Limited (UKGC 52894). The Hopa brand might be something that rings a bell with many bettors, but it’s been through a lot of ownership changes over the years. Our Hopa review will cut through all that noise, leaving you well informed about the good and the bad.

The Hopa we have before us today, which is operated by White Hat Gaming (UKGC: 52894), is relatively in its infancy having only been acquired in 2024. It feels a lot like that too. That’s not to say the offering isn’t decent, it is, and there are plenty of greenshoots that punters should be excited about. There is, however, significant areas where it misses the mark too.
The sportsbook comes with good betting margins of 5.60% and offer a good range of sports and competitions. Some of the market depth within events leaves a lot to be desired though, whilst no horse racing odds is a huge gap.
As for the casino there are over 80 software providers meaning there are hundreds of games to choose from, with a number of household brand names featuring amongst that array of playing options. The navigation and filtering in the casino is solid if not spectacular as well.
Payment methods, of which there are plenty, and the customer service on offer at Hopa are strong too.
Where shall we start? Probably at the end because, let’s face it, the current state of play of Hopa is the most important factor for your decision-making process.
First and foremost, it is a sportsbook and casino owned by White Hat Gaming, who is licenced and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission under licence number 52894. White Hat underpin various brands in the online betting space, including Blackjack City and Karamba; they have been in the UK markets since October 2018.
As for the history of Hopa, it’s quite an extensive one. We don’t want to delve too deep because it is largely redundant now, but clarity on the brand is important. Aspire Global originally launched Hopa with Esports Technologies acquiring it, alongside several others, in 2021 in a £56m deal.
After a name change to EBET, financial challenges hit, with Hopa among the brands auctioned off. It was at this stage, in mid-2024, that White Hat Gaming took over Hopa.
Hopa is licenced and regulated to trade in UK markets under the ownership of White Hat Gaming limited (UKGC 52894). With several years worth of experience in the UK, alongside operating multiple different brands, Hopa is safe and legal to bet with.
Cutting to the chase, it’s really hard to read anything into the Hopa Trustpilot rating. The 1.3 out of 5 rating is a reflection of the more extended history of the brand.
If you then limit reviews to the last 12 months, which isn’t wildly out of kilter with the White Hat Gaming ownership period, there have only been seven reviews.
Each of those reviews have awarded just a solitary star, but with such a small sample size it is difficult to put any weight on any of the ratings. It is also worth stressing that 1.3 out of 5 is not dissimilar to how household brands like Bet365 perform.
No. White Hat Gaming, the company that owns Hopa, have never had regulatory action taken against them by the UK Gambling Commission.
The choice of payment options on offer from Hopa is definitely a point worth celebrating with a strong array of options available.
Common deposit methods such as Visa, Mastercard and Apple Pay are the first few to feature on the list, but there are various others as well, including Instant Bank Transfer, Paysafecard, Neosurf and Skrill.
There really is an option for everyone, and what’s more, the minimum deposits across those methods sit at £10. That’s not the lowest deposit minimum you’ll find, but it also isn’t bad.
Our test deposit – made using Visa – was available to play with instantly.

You can deposit funds at Hopa very easily. Simply follow our below step-by-step process:
Once logged into your account, you will see a purple account balance displayed in the top right corner alongside a ‘+’ sign displayed in a blue circle. Click it.
On completion of the previous step, you will be taken to a ‘secure deposit’ screen. There are a host of payment methods listed here in the form of buttons. Locate the payment method of your choice and click it.
When entering you chosen deposit amount you can utilise the quick reference options - £10, £20 or £50 – or simply input your preferred amount by typing in the box available.
On entering a qualifying amount, you will see a section appear detailing any Bonus Details. Scroll beyond that message and enter your payment details and check you are happy with customer funds notification. If you are, tick the check box and hit the ‘Deposit’ button.
You will then be redirected to a ‘Deposit Successful’ screen.
As is the widely the case, withdrawal methods at Hopa do not differ much from the deposit options. Whilst this does, in theory, give you a large choice of methods to choose from, you will be tied into withdrawing to the method(s) from which you have deposited; this is standard practice and not unique to Hopa.
The timescales attached to the withdrawal process are stated as up to five business days, with most occurring inside three.
Our test withdrawal processed in 17 hours; that’s from the moment of confirming our withdrawal through to the funds landing in our bank account. Not the fastest withdrawal in our tests, but still pretty good.

The Hopa withdrawal process is explained step-by-step below:
It should go without saying, but in order to follow this process, you will need to make sure you are logged into your Hopa account.
Once logged in, you need to access the cashier section. Whilst you will see your account balance stated in purple in the top horizontal bar, ignore it. Instead, click on the icon in the very top right corner to open your account section.
Click on the outlined oval ‘Withdraw’ button.
You will be met with a small amount of blurb around the withdrawal process, predominantly detailing generic timings and referencing how bonus funds are handled in the process.
Under this, you will see your available withdrawal methods. Click on the withdrawal method of your choice.
The next stage of your process is very simple. All you have to do is enter your account password, select your withdrawal amount and, once content with the details you have input, hit the blue ‘Withdraw’ button.
It’s worth noting that withdrawal minimums and maximums range from £10 up to £99,999.
From here, you will be taken to a ‘Withdrawal Requested’ screen, whilst you will also receive an email detailing your withdrawal. The guidance given from Hopa put the withdrawal timescales at up to five business days.
It only took 17 hours in our test, with the withdrawal made at 22:51 and landing back in our bank before 16:00 the next day.
The sportsbook at Hopa offers a reasonable coverage of sports, without being one of the most sport-rich operators.
All told, there are 39 different sports punters can bet on, including four variations of e-sports. Horse racing is a huge omission, but included among those covered are headline grabbing sports such as football and American Football as well as lower-profile things like beach volleyball and futsal.
It's not just the depth of sports that is decent though. The coverage of events and markets within the sports are good too.
Take football for instance, not only are you able to bet on all the top European leagues and competitions, but you can explore a vast array of competitions around the world, including options to dip into obscure youth leagues as well meaning there is always fixtures and markets to explore. Many of them come with the ability to bet in-play too, including those lesser-known leagues.
It’s not all good news though. The breadth of competitions offered is good, but the depth of markets isn’t amazing with only around 50 ‘main’ markets offered on the Premier League; that is a long way off competing with the best football bookmakers. That lack of market choice also hampers the betbuilder tool.
In respect of the layout, the sportsbook is decent. There are clear icons to aid navigation, toggles for live-streaming and options inside the markets to give users a choice of presentation style for markets like total goals.
All that leaves to touch on is the betting margins. That allows us to end on a positive note where the sportsbook is concerned. The margins in our test came in at a strong 5.60%.

The Hopa casino is split into two different sections – a traditional online casino and a live casino. The offering is pretty good as well.
On the traditional side of things, there are hundreds of games spanning across jackpots, slots, and drop & wins with near on 100 game providers supporting that offering including major brands such as NetEnt, Pragmatic and Slingo.
Across those games sectors there are a significant number of well-known names on offer too including the likes of Rich Wilde and the Book of the Dead and Big Bass Vegas Double Down Deluxe.
The table games on offer largely come from the live casino where Pragmatic Play are a key feature. Those games spread across five core categories with roulette, blackjack, poker, baccarat, and game shows with numerous variations sitting within each of those sections.
From a structure perspective, the layout of the casino is clean and tidy. Menu navigation is intuitive, and game icons are easy to scroll through and open whilst the search functionality allows bettors to drill into specific providers and game names.
In the modern world, mobile betting apps are an important part of the gambling experience for a lot of users. Hopa come up short in this space with no mobile app currently available.
Our current understanding is that this is unlikely to change in the immediate future but could come further down the line, albeit with no firm timescales.
The good news is that the website offered by Hopa is mobile-friendly, so whilst the absence of an app is slightly annoying, it doesn’t mean you can’t bet on the go.
Immediately after registration, you are taken to a ‘Responsible Gambling’ section where Hopa explains what that term actually means whilst signposting you to external support numbers. You can just ‘Okay’ this message or access ‘Protection Tools’.
If opting to review the tools available to you, you will be taken to a more detailed page on responsible gambling. There are a vast array of options available to punters here including:
Beyond just offering these tools, it also explains what each tool is and how it works. You will also find a questionnaire that is designed to help at risk bettors identify a potential problem, along with a whole host of additional external resource links.
The customer support at Hopa is strong. You can access the ‘Contact Us’ section by hitting the three vertical dots in the top left corner; this then brings up a main menu with the bottom option being ‘Contact Us’.
Once accessed, you can pick up a link into a detailed FAQ section with 46 different questions across six different sections ranging from ‘Account’ through to ‘Technical Issues & Resolutions’.
If these do not assist you, you have three additional options. You can submit an enquiry form at the bottom of the customer support page, send an email or utilise the 24/7 live chat function.
During our test of the live chat function, we found the response times to be extremely prompt, with the detail provided in response to our questions more than adequate.

If, after reading our Hopa review, you want to sign up with the bookmaker then you can do so by simply following our step-by-step guide:
The first thing you have to do is to navigate to ‘Hopa.com’. Once here, click on the blue ‘Join’ button located in the top right hand corner.
The first screen you will see after hitting ‘Join’ is focussed on the Hopa welcome offers. Review the offer presented to you – currently a 100% casino bonus up to the value of £100 with a further 20 free spins.
You then have to choose whether you ‘want this offer’ or not. If it’s the latter, you have to hit ‘skip’.
Now we get into the more traditional Hopa sign up process. The first stage of this involves entering you email address and then creating a username and password.
You will see pop up boxes confirming whether or not the information you’ve entered is acceptable. Once presented with four green boxes, select the blue ‘Create Account’ button.
Next up, you have to input some of your personal details. These details include your title, name, date of birth and mobile number.
You’ll then see two greyed out sections for your country and currency. Scroll past these and enter your address details. Hit the blue ‘continue’ button.
The last step of the sign up process involves a few simple tick boxes. The first relates to bonus and promotional offers, the second is an acknowledgement of the Hopa terms and conditions and privacy policy.
When activating the first box, a further 13 will appear. These allow you to set preferences across different components and methods or you can ‘Check all’.
Once content, tick the boxes and select ‘Finish’. You will now see a ‘Congratulations’ page confirming your registration.

Shockingly terrible bookmakers. Kept settling my bets short if I had not picked up on them theyd have gotten away with it. Settling short by 80 55 and 35. The final straw came when I placed a 50ew bet with a pay out or 500 due then noticed the next day they had cancelled the bet. Not only that but are not refunding the wager I placed. 3 days of chasing and I am getting the brush off.
