HighBet initially entered the market in the latter part of 2021 but a relaunch with SCGO Limited, licensed by the UK Gambling Commission under licence number 44662, in early 2025 means many punters are now giving them another look. Our HighBet review will tell you everything you need to know about the bookie be that good, bad or indifferent.

Don’t get us wrong, there are a few aspects of the Highbet offering that are good. Unfortunately for them, there are more doubts than positives though.
The positives live in the fact that their football coverage is decent both in the markets they offer and the betting margins they have, which sit at 6.25%. The casino and live casino, meanwhile, largely do what you’d expect them to. Highbet also deserves a tick for the £1 minimum deposit with some methods.
As for the negatives, it really depends hon how deep you want to go. We’ll delve into the details as we continue our Highbet review but there are glaring omissions in the sportsbook with respect to what sports are covered. Furthermore, the look, feel and navigation on the site don’t scream “premium” either.
They are what we would consider to be fairly soft negatives. The harder negatives are underpinned by the recent negative reviews; they are difficult to get past when they paint a bad picture of such important factors.
Whatever way you look at things, Highbet is a fairly new face on the UK betting scene. Owned by Time Solutions (Malta) Ltd, HighBet’s first foray came in 2021 when launching a casino and sportsbook offering.
Now it's having another stab at the market courtesy of a relaunch with a new gaming partner, SCGO Ltd. They are better known as SoftConstruct/BetConstruct and also underpin VBet as well as the sportsbooks at Hollywoodbets and CopyBet.
Despite being a relative newbie, Highbet is a brand many might recognise in the UK. They have former heavyweight boxer David Haye on side as a brand ambassador and were also featured as short sponsor for Championship football club Hull City during the 2023/24 season.
Regardless of sponsorships and celebrity endorsements, we will be putting the new look Highbet under the microscope. With pros and cons addressed with equal balance, we will be looking at the signup process, payment methods – both in respect of deposit and withdrawal – and everything in between.
Highbet passes the basic test of being a safe operator in that it is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission courtesy of its relationship with Soft Construct (Malta) Ltd, whose licence number is 44662. The fact Highbet is a licenced bookmaker means that it is legal for bettors to use whilst it should also be safe for depositing funds.
Trustpilot is a good gauge for the trustworthiness of a bookmaker but there are a couple of watchouts to be aware of. Firstly, it’s common for bookies to score lowly on the “out of five” metric; even a well-trusted operator like Bet365 only has a 1.3 score.
By comparison to Bet365’s rating, a 1.6/5 score for Highbet might be seen as reasonable. In normal circumstances, we would potentially agree with that sentiment but that’s where the second watchout comes in. Highbet has relaunched recently and the score of 1.6 considers reviews prior to that.
Focussing on reviews posted after the end of January 2025, the vast majority make poor reading with 89% of the reviewers leaving one star. The details of the reviews wave huge red flags too with question marks raised over Highbet’s ability to honour promotions and pay out winnings.
First things first, we should clear up that Highbet has not been fined by the UK Gambling Commission at any point during its operation. It’s not all good news though.
Their relaunch partner, Soft Construct, has been pulled up by the UKGC in the past through failings by Vivaro Limited, trading as VBet. In January 2023, VBet was ordered to pay close to £340k after “a series of failings” to address process gaps to prevent money laundering and safer gambling.
The deposit process was one of the big talking points of Highbet prior to their relaunch with the bookie applauded for their vast array of payment methods, though highly criticised for adding processing fees on top of deposits.
In the new world, those charges no longer exist. That’s a big step forward for Highbet but also just brings it in line with what the majority do. There are downsides as well as the payment methods have been reduced to three: debit card, Skrill and Neteller.
On the bright side, the spread across those three methods gives punters a varied threshold of deposit with a range from £1 all the way up to £10,000.
Payment Method | Min. Limit | Max. Limit | Transaction Fee | Withdrawal Time |
---|---|---|---|---|
![]() Visa | £10 | £2,000 | No fee | Instant |
![]() Mastercard | £10 | £2,000 | No fee | Instant |

The Highbet deposit process is explained step-by-step below:
When logged in, click on your account icon, a head and shoulders inside a circle, in the top right corner of the screen. Then select the "Deposit" option from the menu.
You will now be faced with three payment options; select your chosen method.
Depending on your choice of payment method, you will need to input your bank details or email address alongside setting your desired deposit amount. Once done, you will see a message on the screen confirming that your deposit has been processed.
The withdrawal process at Highbet hits a lot of the same boxes as depositing funds; the payment methods available to punters are the same, as are the withdrawal minimums and maximums.
There is one big factor missing from the Highbet withdrawal process though: they do not give a guideline on how long withdrawals typically take. We reached out to the HighBet customer support team and were advised of a generic "3-5 working days" processing time. Despite this answer, our test withdrawal actually only took 29 minutes.
Payment Method | Min. Limit | Max. Limit | Transaction Fee | Withdrawal Time |
---|---|---|---|---|
![]() Visa | £10 | £2,000 | No fee | 30 minutes in our test |
![]() Mastercard | £10 | £2,000 | No fee | 3-5 business days |
![]() Skrill | £1 | £10,000 | No fee | 3-5 business days |

The Highbet withdrawal process is explained step-by-step below:
First of all, ensure you are logged in to your HighBet account. Then navigate to your account section, which is the blue head and shoulders icon that can be found in the top right-hand corner of the top banner. Select "Withdraw" from the menu.
Once in the "Withdraw" section, it's simply a case of selecting your chosen withdrawal method and amount. You should see a message confirming your successful withdrawal request.
If you look at the Highbet sportsbook on the surface you would applaud the site for a job reasonably well done. A decent range of sports is covered with no fewer than 40 to choose from – including a couple of e-sports, which is a pretty comprehensive coverage.
Dig a little deeper though and there are some oddities starting with the fact that horse racing is not amongst the 40 sports on offer; Water Polo and Lacrosse are though! In other words, horse racing punters will have to look elsewhere.
With horses a rather strange omission, football is clearly Highbet's bread and butter. Again, at first glance it’s a good offering. It covers a lot of competitions, has in-play options and a bet builder functionality whilst also featuring a deep choice of markets (between 100 and 200) under each fixture.
The challenges come when you get into the details. The menu navigation is strange with seemingly no real thought given to how a punter would want to pick and place their best with the market layout within fixtures similar.
In addition to that, there are some markets you would expect to be covered that aren’t, for example, player shots. The lack of these more unique markets really handcuffs Highbet’s bet builder compared to the top bookies as well.
We don’t only come with the negatives for Highbet though. The betting margins, which come in at 6.25%, are pretty comparable with most operators and Highbet is certainly more palatable now than prior to their relaunch and, on a separate note, the tweaked colour scheme is easier on the eye with the navy background and white text easy to read. It’s a shame that lacks consistency across the sportsbook.

Highbet casino is split into a couple of different components.
The first is a live casino, which offers quite a vast array of games. Table games such as roulette, blackjack and baccarat are pretty commonplace across casino operators who dabble in the live markets but offerings such as Monopoly Live, Mega Wheel and Football Blitz: Top Card add another layer.
Over in the standard casino, the offering is largely comparable with other online bookies. You’ll find a host of slots including some well-known names such as Bigger Bass Splash and Wild Wild Riches Megaways. There is also the option for further table games with a number of different roulette variations accounting for the majority of them.
The Highbet casino also claims to offer a dedicated Bingo section. This exaggerates what is on offer with that section actually empty on navigation.
Despite the slight annoyance of the bingo blackhole, the HighBet casino is alright with respect of the games available whilst the layout and associated navigation is fairly intuitive. We did experience some slight challenges with the processing speed on navigation though; with all things considered, the best we’d stretch to is “average”.
Despite an overhaul and a relaunch with a new partner, as we stand here today, there is still no mobile app available for Highbet. That feels like an own goal for a brand that is looking to take new strides.
Sure, there are bigger factors to a good betting platform than an app but the way people bet today means that bookies being at their fingertips is important; that’s not possible with Highbet just yet.
There are a fair few places where you can poke holes in Highbet as a betting platform. The approach it takes to responsible bambling is not one of them. All bookmakers have a minimum level they need to operate at to meet their licence conditions but HighBet does go a bit further than that.
The thing we liked most about the approach Highbet takes is the proactive message sent out to accounts shortly after sign-up that is focused solely on Safer Gambling steps. This makes it very difficult for bettors to ignore in the first instance but also gives them a long-lasting, easy-to-find reference about the tools available.
Deposit limits, time outs, reality checks and self-exclusions are all captured as part of that initial message whilst clear signposting to support services is also provided.
The Highbet relaunch has seen the site make improvements to its customer support. A key improvement has been the introduction of a 24/7 live chat function, which during a handful of test queries, which included weekends and early mornings, always responded in a timely manner.
The downside to the live chat is that we had to have a back-and-forth to actually get a clear answer on two of our three queries; you could arguably put that down to the luck of the draw with the advisor who responds.
The rest of the customer support options at Highbet are pretty weak. There is no telephone contact available with email your only choice in addition to the aforementioned live chat function whilst the absence of a FAQ section is pretty inexplicable.
