We decided to put BetMGM's words to the test, downloading the app and taking a look at the withdrawal process ourselves. We opted for the minimum withdrawal amount, i.e. £10, and chose a Visa debit card as our payment method. Thanks to the Visa Direct feature, withdrawals tend to be quite fast.
Indeed, we received the money in our bank account after just four hours and that is a commendable result. Those who are keen on getting the money fast will not have to worry at BetMGM, in other words, even if not all punters can use the Visa Direct feature. PayPal is also rather quick so there should still be no major issues.
BetMGM's growth in the UK betting market has been admirable since its launch in the summer of 2023. While the generous welcome offers have been the main drivers of this growth, the bookmaker also has a decent sportsbook thanks to the backing of LeoVegas and Kambi. So, what about the payment methods?
The list of available methods is far from mind-blowing, at least compared to some of the top UK betting sites, but it will certainly suffice for most punters. Indeed, the popular e-wallet PayPal is available and so is the convenient Apple Pay. Below, we have collected the key information about withdrawals at BetMGM, from the payment methods available to the withdrawal time for each.
Payment Method | Min. Limit | Max. Limit | Transaction Fee | Processing Time |
---|---|---|---|---|
Mastercard | £10 | £8,000 | No fee | 1-3 business days |
Visa | £10 | £8,000 | No fee | Four hours in our test |
Apple Pay | £10 | £8,000 | No fee | 1-3 business days |
Paypal | £10 | £4,000 | No fee | Within 24 hours |
Bank Transfer | £10 | £35,000 | No fee | Not specified |
The fastest way to withdraw your winnings from a BetMGM account is by using a Visa Direct debit card, alternatively PayPal which is always among the fastest methods. Our test, as you can see below, confirmed that withdrawals with a Visa debit card can take just a few hours and that is indeed impressive. PayPal withdrawals also tend to be quick, taking at most 24 hours.
The minimum withdrawal amount could be a bit better for all methods, currently set at £10, and this is something that some punters will not like. Other popular e-wallets such as Skrill and Neteller are also missing from the list, and seeing as many like to use these specifically for fast withdrawals, the bookmaker still has some work to do.
If you are new to BetMGM and would like some assistance withdrawing funds, you can follow our step-by-step guide below. It should be noted that we tested the process on the BetMGM app.
To start the process, you will need to enter the 'Profile' area to withdraw your funds. So from the main menu, tap the 'Profile' option, and then enter the banking menu.
In the menu, you will have four options and this time we want to select 'Withdraw'. For future reference, this is also where you can keep track of any pending withdrawals - a handy feature indeed.
In this step, you will be asked to select a method of withdrawal: Apple Pay, debit card, instant transfer or PayPal. We opted to go with a Visa debit card in our test, seeing as this is a commonly used method among UK punters.
Finally, there are two more things to do. First, select your card from the dropdown list and then enter your withdrawal amount. Then, tap the golden 'Withdraw' button.
In our test, it took four hours for the withdrawal to be complete - a timeframe that was shared with its sister website, BetUK, when we tested that app.
As soon as you have requested a withdrawal from BetMGM, you will be able to find it in the 'Pending Withdrawals' section of the cashier. However, as you can see in the photo below, this section does not say much with only the requested withdrawal and its date listed. Even when we tried to press the request, no more information appeared.
While there perhaps is not much to be said about a pending withdrawal, bookies usually provide more information than BetMGM, at least giving a timeline for when such a withdrawal is usually processed. The bookmaker could certainly improve on this front, even if the most important thing is how fast the withdrawal is.
While BetMGM offers fast withdrawals, it does not offer instant withdrawals as some betting sites do thanks to Instant Bank Transfers. It remains to be seen if BetMGM and the LeoVegas-powered empire will add this method down the line, but it certainly would be wise given that more and more bookies accept it these days.
Apple Pay is one of the accepted payment methods at BetMGM, not just for deposits but also for withdrawals. However, while the £10 minimum withdrawal amount goes for both Visa and Mastercard debit cards, the speed of an Apple Pay withdrawal will depend on the card. Indeed, those who have support for Visa Direct will get the money faster (just a few hours).
