Sublime Szoboszlai Clinches Important Liverpool Win

Liverpool were victorious in a tense battle with Arsenal at Anfield, with both teams expected to mount a serious title charge this season. A fiery contest where clear-cut chances were at a premium was decided by a moment of brilliance, with Dominic Szoboszlai firing in a free kick from over 30 yards out.

It meant a perfect start for Liverpool, who enter the international break having picked up nine points from a possible nine. They’re 11/8 to win the title. Arsenal’s loss sees them placed at 15/8 to finally get their hands on the title.

Subpar City Lose Second Successive Game

Manchester City slumped to a second straight defeat after conceding late on at Brighton. Pep Guardiola’s side looked to have bounced back to normality after their opening-day mauling of Wolves, but they head into the international break with serious questions hanging over them.

Erling Haaland’s first-half strike was cancelled out when James Milner tucked away a penalty, marking the moment with a tribute to his friend and former teammate Diogo Jota. Then, in the 89th minute, substitute Brajan Gruda coolly rounded James Trafford to hand the Seagulls all three points. The result leaves City now 6/1 to win the Premier League.

Blues Blessed By VAR

Chelsea beat Fulham in what may seem a routine 2-0 victory, though the game wasn’t without controversy. A fantastic goal by Fulham starlet Josh King was harshly cancelled out by VAR after Rodrigo Muniz trod on an opponent's foot when spinning away with the ball.

João Pedro’s opener on the stroke of half-time was doubled when Enzo Fernández converted from the spot after the break. The penalty decision left Marco Silva with a sour taste, but Enzo Maresca won’t be losing sleep as Chelsea’s impressive start continued.  The Blues are now 2/5 to finish in the top four this season

Rescued at the Death

Manchester United were played off the park in their Carabao Cup defeat to Grimsby Town but managed to get back to winning ways against Burnley.

A five-goal thriller was settled at the death by a Bruno Fernandes penalty. It wasn’t a convincing display, but the win should be enough to keep Ruben Amorim safe in the dugout until after the international break. United are now 7/2 to finish in the top four.

Bournemouth ended Spurs’ unbeaten run with a hard-fought victory, stalling the momentum Thomas Frank’s side had built from two impressive early performances. Evanilson’s second-half strike was enough to separate the sides and hand the Cherries a statement win.

For Spurs, it’s a frustrating way to head into the international break after what had been a promising start. They’re now 7/2 to make the top four this season

Clarets Burned by Bruno

A late Bruno Fernandes penalty snatched victory for Manchester United and denied Burnley a valuable point at Old Trafford. It was a cruel end for Scott Parker’s side, who had battled bravely throughout.

The Clarets can at least take comfort from picking up a win before the international break, though a daunting run of fixtures awaits them on the other side. They’re 4/11 to make the drop.

Black Cats Scratch Out a Win

Sunderland remain among the favourites for relegation at 4/5, despite an encouraging start to the campaign from the Mackems.

Late strikes from Enzo Le Fée and Wilson Isidor sealed a priceless victory over Brentford in what already feels like a six-pointer between two sides tipped to be in the scrap for survival.

Wolves Sit Bottom of the Pack

Wolves are still searching for their first points of the season, rooted to the bottom of the table after another defeat - this time against Everton.

The Toffees’ lively front line proved too hot to handle for Vítor Pereira’s side, with summer signings Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall running the show. After a nightmare start, Wolves are now 5/6 to go down.

Forest Gaffer Next for the Chop?

Nuno Espírito Santo’s future at Nottingham Forest was already in doubt after his public comments on a breakdown in relations with owner Evangelos Marinakis. A damaging 3-0 home defeat to struggling West Ham has only deepened the uncertainty.

Priced at 6/4 to be the next Premier League manager to leave, the question now is whether the rift can be repaired - or if his time at the City Ground is nearing its end.

Amorim on Red Alert

Manchester United eased some pressure with a win over Burnley, bouncing back from the embarrassment of a midweek cup exit. It was far from a convincing performance, though, with United labouring against a side many expect to be relegated.

The result may buy the manager some time, but questions remain over his suitability for the role. Frustration among supporters continues to grow, and doubts within the boardroom are unlikely to have been silenced. He’s currently priced at 11/4 to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job.

Haaland Adds Another

Erling Haaland opened the scoring against Brighton but couldn’t add any further goals to his tally and is now 10/11 to finish as the Premier League’s top scorer.

Viktor Gyökeres drew a blank at the weekend, but at 13/2, he still provides decent value in the Golden Boot race, with goals expected to flow when Arsenal face weaker opposition.

Alexander Isak emerges as third favourite for the top scorer award despite missing all three games so far in his standoff with Newcastle. With the Swede finally set to join Liverpool, he’s now 8/1 to top the scoring charts.
