Wolves sit rock bottom of the Premier League, and a change is needed on the touchline. Despite a strong ending to last season, Vitor Pereira is no longer seen as the man to lead them forward. So, who is? If anyone...

End of the Road

There were suggestions in the summer that Pereira was considering leaving his post, with the market movements not making sense to him. In fact, Wolves have looked like a bit of a poisoned chalice for a while now.

However, he remained at the club. Unfortunately, for him, though, it has not worked out, probably as he feared it wouldn't. Wolves look as good as done already, and new inspiration may not be able to drag them out of their predicament.

Next Wolves Manager Odds - The Bookies Favourites

Let's go over the favourites to replace Vitor Pereira and the odds for each manager.

Gary O'Neil - 1/1

Well, no one probably expected this move to happen, and I don't really understand it. O'Neil was great and did a lot for Wolves in the time that he was there. However, going back to him is not the answer.

Perhaps, if you are trying a longer-term rebuild, it might. Ultimately, though, I cannot see a reason to return to him. The group has only got worse, and I just cannot see him seeking a return.

Rui Borges - 6/1

Rui Borges is the next option for the club, and it would again be going down the Portuguese route, which has certainly had wavering levels of success in recent years. However, it seems that he is unlikely to take the job.

As Record (via GiveMeSport) write, the Portuguese has ruled himself out of the job. For this reason, I'd be steering well clear.

The Odds Elsewhere

Looking elsewhere, there are a few decent options. Brendan Rodgers at 8/1 could be a bit of stability, and with him being a free agent, it removes the need for a high compensation fee. Elsewhere among the favourites, it is difficult to see Rob Edwards or Sergio Conceicao taking the role.

Michael Carrick could be an interesting shout at 16/1 with the Flutter options, especially as he is as low as 8/1 with others. However, it is too tough to call who will be the next boss right now.

I'd be steering clear of this market.
