All signs point in the direction of Ange Postecoglou being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the current season, despite Spurs being close to a European final. So, who may be tasked with shaping the future of the Lilywhites?
Below are the latest betting odds for Tottenham's next permanent manager at the time of this post.
Looking at Spurs with positivity is an almost impossible task, considering how back and forth the past few years have been. Under Ange Postecoglou, the highs and lows have been more extreme, though.
For example, at the start of last season, it seemed the club were aligned. However, we are now at a point where Tottenham Hotspur, one of the Premier League's big six, sit in 16th. Through all of this, they are still almost in a European final, which would grant them Champions League football next season.
Reports suggest that whatever the outcome of this season, Ange will probably depart, and it is not really a shock, considering the side still lacks a real identity. Nevertheless, let's look at who could come in.
Let's go over the favourites to replace Ange Postecoglou and the odds for each manager.
It is not really a shock to see Xavi linked with the Spurs job, after all, he is responsible for one of the best revival projects in recent footballing memory - of course, we are speaking of Barcelona here.
The Spaniard brilliantly restarted the Blaugrana project while making the most of La Masia's biggest talents, winning a La Liga title in the process.
After being out of work for a year, he will probably return to coaching this summer, and Spurs would be a fantastic job for the former midfielder, considering how good he has already been with younger players, and how young the Spurs side is generally.
That being said, it would probably take a lot to lure him to the club, and this would be the main stopping point, you would imagine.

Personally, I have no idea why the Argentine coach is linked back to the job once again, and I think it is quite a lazy option, from a bookmaker's and potentially Tottenham's perspective.
Yes, Pochettino did wonders in North London the first time around, and he probably should not have been sacked when he was.
Nevertheless, he has got some stability with the US National Team job, which automatically lessens the chances of him moving, as does the compensation clause in that contract.
It seems he is staying with America for a while, considering they are hosting the World Cup in a year. For me, I'd be avoiding this selection without a second thought.

Thomas Frank is a really interesting candidate, and it seems like the Dane has regularly been linked to the Tottenham job since his Brentford team got promoted to the Premier League. However, a move has never been made.
Ultimately, I don't think this will be the time for a move to happen either, with him recently stating that he is at one of the best clubs in the world, and that moving to a 'big club' would probably not make him happy.
The foundations would be there for him, but I just cannot see him leaving his post with Brentford anytime soon.

Andoni Iraola and Marco Silva foot the first five options, both coming in around the 6/1 mark, and I struggle to see either really considering an approach from the Lilywhites - more so Iraola, considering how well he is doing with Bournemouth.
Kieran McKenna could be a name of intrigue, but again, I think that it is a bit too risky at present, and at 12/1, you can certainly find better options in the market.
Roberto De Zerbi is around the 33/1 mark, which could be an alright price if he leaves Marseille this summer, but again, I'd have concerns about his desire to return to England.

As of May 2, Tottenham are best-priced at 5/4 to win the Europa League - if they were to do that, it would certainly be a fantastic starting point for the new manager.
