Wycombe Wanderers have been the story of this League One season so far, but that may be about to change, as they now have two direct competitors for second place. Without further ado, let's dive into Odds Watch.
Things are looking really good for Birmingham, and they have been all season. However, they have now got more breathing room than ever before. Another win at the weekend has seen them rise to 69 points so far this season.
This is where things get nice though. Wycombe (who we'll get to in a second) dropped points again, and now there is a nine-point gap between the two sides. Oh, and the Blues have a game in hand, so it could (and probably will) extend to 12 points. If there were any doubts about the Bluesnoses, there shouldn't be any anymore.
Below, we have collected the top team and their respective odds to win the title in the 2024/25 League One season.
We'll start where we left off: Wycombe. The Chairboys' last win came at the end of January against Barnsley and with two draws and a defeat (albeit in the FA Cup) since, questions could be asked about their position.
The title, if it was still in view before (probably not) is definitely gone now, and there is a serious chance that their automatic promotion spot could go with it...
Sitting just two points away is Wrexham, who have also played 30 games at this point. A win against Northampton Town away from home is nothing to be scoffed at and there is a real possibility that they pose a serious threat to second place.
Stockport also are just three points away from Wycombe and their form as of late has been marvellous. However, they have played two games more than almost everyone around them, so they are not in the best position.
Huddersfield returned to winning ways this weekend at Oakwell, a ground which has notoriously been difficult for them in recent years. The Terriers play one of their games in hand on Tuesday, so they could be just two points behind Stockport if that goes well.
Leyton Orient are also still in the mix after another win this weekend. However, there have been talks about Richie Wellens' future, so the O's could be about to enter a difficult period...
Charlton and Bolton are also both giving strong challenges to the play-offs, so their odds are definitely worth a look at, even if Charlton lost this weekend.
Below, we have collected the top teams and their respective odds to gain promotion in the 2024/25 League One season.
All season I've struggled to pick a team that will struggle with the drop, and I have to admit I'm still in this position. Only last week did I say that teams were picking up points on a semi-regular basis and now that looks laughable.
In the bottom seven, just two teams drew and the two sides that previously sat just outside the relegation zone are now sitting a nice distance away after a rare win.
We start with Cambridge United who were beaten by fellow strugglers Exeter City, they sit bottom of the league and the latest defeat was the end for Garry Monk. Maybe they will hope for a new manager boost, but I think it is a side that severely lacks quality.
Burton's defeat to Bristol Rovers is a bit of a concern, I must admit. In recent weeks they have been gradually picking up, but a loss to Rovers is really damaging, especially as they now have gained a huge boost away from the relegation zone.
If other teams around them had not also lost, I'd certainly be more concerned.
Despite taking the lead against Bolton, Shrewsbury fell to defeat again this weekend. Whilst they have had a few nice results of late, the loss this weekend could be worsened with a game against Huddersfield tomorrow.
Crawley picked up a huge result against Wycombe, drawing at home, which could be a nice boost for their season. The Chairboys have scored for fun this season, so limiting them to just a goal is certainly a positive.
Peterborough and Northampton are both teetering too, and this is worth a mention. Teams around them are picking up points, whilst both seem to be lacking slightly and they could get dragged into the mix if they are not careful.
Below, we have collected the top four teams and their respective odds to be relegated in the 2024/25 League One season.
