The second League One team to clinch promotion was confirmed this weekend, namely Wrexham, while Leyton Orient and Reading are battling it out for the final play-off spot.

Wrexham Clinch Promotion

Birmingham look almost certain to break the points record now, and since they wrapped up the title, we have stopped looking towards them with as much focus. Especially since there are no odds available for them, barring the standard fixture odds.

So, we move to the next best place, which is the fight for the second automatic promotion spot, and that has been won by Wrexham after this weekend's results.

The imminent was confirmed before the Red Dragons even took to the pitch, with Wycombe failing to beat Leyton Orient in the day's early kick-off. So, the party atmosphere was tangible in Wales before things even got going.

Come to half five, and the Welsh outfit put three past a very good Charlton side to only further the party celebrations as the club confirmed their third successive promotion, and now they will play Championship football next season.

No Breathing Room for Two

With the weekend's results, Stockport now sit third in the division, which obviously affects their route to the play-off final if they were to make it. As it stands, they will now play sixth rather than fifth, had they not beaten Lincoln.

You would imagine that their promotion odds would change slightly as a result, but they have not moved from 2/1, which is a little bit surprising.

Wycombe sit fourth after their loss, and will currently face Charlton for a spot at Wembley, though the positions could all change on the final day with the three teams sitting on 84, 84 and 82 points, respectively.

But who will take that sixth place? Well, it is a question difficult to answer currently.

Leyton Orient won again this weekend, and the 1-0 win against Wycombe is huge for the grand scheme of things. Confidence is flowing around the O's at present, and you would imagine that they will only continue on this same path.

For Reading, it may be a case of leaving it a little too much to fate. A 2-0 win against Bristol Rovers, whilst good for morale, has no effect on the table really, even if they are still hot on the heels of Orient.

An eight-goal swing is needed on the final day as it stands, with both teams sitting on 75 points. The O's travel to Huddersfield, whilst Reading host Barnsley; in other words, there is no easy fixture for either. Time for some final day magic.

All but Done at the Bottom

At the bottom of the division, things have been just as interesting for the most part, and this weekend, we saw it a little more.

Cambridge were the second team to be confirmed as down this weekend, with their loss to Burton killing their chances of safety, a real double-edged sword.

So, we move to 22nd, where Bristol Rovers now sit, and it looks like the Pirates are as good as dead now. Another loss this weekend, even against a good Reading side, shows that this team are on the floor.

Crawley, on the other hand, have shown signs of life once again, as they won their second consecutive game - this time beating Northampton by a dominant scoreline of 3-0. However, it just seems like it's too late for them.

The main reason behind that is the fact that Burton Albion won again this weekend, beating Cambridge by two goals to one, taking their point tally to 46 in the process.

It is worth noting that Burton play Wigan Athletic at home on Tuesday evening, where a point can be enough to secure their place in League One for another season at least.

Should they not achieve that in midweek, they will have to travel to Charlton with the hopes of a point or better, which is not ideal. Bristol Rovers travel to Blackpool, whilst Crawley face Shrewsbury - it could certainly be an interesting final day.
