Jonathan David's Next Club Odds: Summer 2025 Window

Napoli have just clinched the Serie A title with Romelu Lukaku as their main man. With Lukaku not getting any younger and the Partenopei having ambitions to go back-to-back whilst competing in the Champions League, another striker coming through the door feels highly likely.

David would be a relatively cost-effective solution for Napoli too. He also possesses similar attributes to Lukaku, making him a great tactical fit. David is a physical striker who can operate with his back to goal whilst also posing a threat in behind courtesy of explosive speed.

With Napoli able to offer elite football, a chance at silverware and what is likely an appealing living situation, this deal could well have legs.

Juventus are another Serie A club said to be interested in David. In many ways, the boxes David ticks for Napoli are also a match for Juve and their need for a striker is pretty high, with noises coming out that they won’t be extending Randal Kolo Muani’s loan spell from PSG.

When you consider PSG are demanding a reported £40m fee for Muani and David is a free agent, you can see why the club would prefer to secure his services. Whether David would be interested remains to be seen.

Juve did secure Champions League football for next season. That is a tick in the right box. They are, however, not the force they were a few years ago with silverware far from guaranteed. You can throw managerial uncertainty into the mix as well.

With David having a wide range of clubs reportedly interested, it’s hard to see him taking a gamble on a move like this.

We stick to Serie A with Inter as the next side in the Jonathan David's next club odds listing. This one doesn’t take as long to weigh up as Napoli and Juve. Simply put, Inter are stacked at the sharp end of the pitch with Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram both operating in their prime years.

David doesn’t need to go and compete with that. Unless there is a serious shakeup of Inter’s attacking options over the next couple of weeks, which is almost impossible to imagine, they won’t be in the running for his signature.

Links between David and Newcastle come with a huge price of 16/1 on them. We’re not convinced it is a deal that happens, but it's sensational value compared to the 8/1 Inter price.

Newcastle finished in the Premier League top five, securing Champions League football for next season; that will more than open the door to a conversation with David’s entourage. Admittedly, the club hierarchy would have to explain where the player fits into their setup with Alexander Isak the star man on Tyneside, but it isn’t impossible.

With Newcastle lacking a second striker of real quality, and David offering versatility across attacking positions, you could argue the Canadian would get lots of game time. David hasn’t always spoken of a massive desire for the Premier League though, which could be a stumbling block.
