Matchweek 2 of the Championship season has already been and gone, and there were a few shocking results. Now, we have several teams deserving a bit of focus!

As it is still early, we have tried to base outcomes on predictions of certain teams, rather than suggesting that a team is going for the title based on two results... That being said, we will obviously take things into account.

So, without further ado, let's dive into it!

Latest Winner Odds in the Championship

Perfect Trio

Ipswich Town, who remain the bookies' favourites to win the division, could not add to their draw against Birmingham City last weekend with a win, and they have drifted marginally. However, drawing both games against your title rivals is far from a bad start.

Southampton travelled to Portman Road and fell behind in the opening few minutes. Young attacker Jay Robinson fired them level inside 30 minutes, though, and then it was quite quiet from then onwards.

For the Saints, who sit in 10th currently, it is a result that new manager Will Still will be pleased with, all things considered. His side remain the second favourites to win the division this season, and there are positives to take from the opening two.

At this point, I'd still be leaning towards the Tractor Boys, after all, they have probably got the two most difficult games out of the way.

Birmingham, like their South coast title opposition, also now sit on four points after a late win against Blackburn. Jay Stansfield levelled the scoring after 90 minutes, then Lyndon Dykes tapped home in the 98th, sending the away end into mayhem.

Looking elsewhere, it has been a perfect start for three teams: Stoke City, Middlesbrough and West Bromwich Albion.

Starting in Staffordshire, the Potters headed to Sheffield and picked up three points against Wednesday at the weekend. New signing Sorba Thomas added another two goals to his tally, whilst Million Manhoef bagged a brace.

Sticking with the theme of the same letters, Middlesbrough went to Millwall and ran rampant, scoring three goals in the second half. Hayden Hackney, once again, proved his quality and shone for Rob Edwards' team.

Finally, West Brom picked up a big win against Wrexham away from home - taking us to three from three for the same letters, I know, really focusing on the interesting stuff! After leading twice, Isaac Price scored in the 80th minute to see off the Red Dragons, who could not come back despite a late goal from Sam Smith to make it 3-2.

Hit and Miss

As things stand, Coventry are the favourites to get a Top Six spot after the aforementioned title favourites. So, it is quite fitting that they sit fifth in the table, the highest of any of the sides in that picture, according to the odds.

A win this weekend against Derby certainly showed some of the bright elements of Frank Lampard's side, scoring five from five different players shows the quality within his team. However, conceding three is certainly not ideal.

Sheffield United, somehow, are the fourth favourites for a spot in the top six. However, two losses in a row do not bode well. Especially considering it was against a pretty average Swansea side; a difficult start for Ruben Selles, indeed.

Then, Leicester were also on the receiving end of a bad result. Away to Preston, who are one of the favourites for the drop, the Foxes lost by two goals to one, and they are not really performing as many expected.

Bristol City look rather solid, drawing against a Charlton side who have just come up at home is not a bad result at home. The Addicks are also left on four points. Hull and Preston, whom I questioned before the start of the season, also sit on the same tally.

Further down, Norwich picked up their first win of the season against Portsmouth away from home. They will now hope to pick up a bit of form moving forward.

Few Shocks at the Bottom

It is still early days, but there are not many shocks at the bottom end of the division, currently. In fact, if you said the favourite three to go down now at the start of the season, you wouldn't be too surprised.

Starting with the obvious, Sheffield Wednesday were beaten again this weekend, this time heavily by Stoke City. The Owls really need some investment on the pitch; if they don't receive it, it could be an ugly season...

Sticking in Sheffield, it is their rivals, the Blades, who sit in 23rd but you would expect them to start moving out of their position rather soon.

Derby, then, take the final spot and there are not too many shocks to be had there. The Rams were well beaten by Coventry, which has seen them drop into the bottom three on goal difference.

Wrexham, Oxford United and Blackburn then sit on 0 points too, whilst QPR sit above them on only a point. There are a few questions that can be asked of each, but it is still a little early to be really getting carried away.
