There are four regular game weeks left in the inaugural Baller League UK and it looks like the top four, who will battle it out in a play-off style contest to crown the first ever winner, will be four of the current top six. First placed VZN are five points clear of MVPs United in sixth. There is then a four point gap to SDS FC in seventh.
With Deportrio and Yanited long been mentioned as the favourites, you'd have to fancy them to make the cut but both have wobbled over the last few weeks whilst Santan are most in danger of missing out on a top four finish but, equally, they head into game week 8 with what was their best performance to date under their belts.
There is a mini-league developing in the top half of the standings after game week 7. Here are the latest outright Baller League odds and how they have moved from last week.
Deportrio were the big losers of game week 7 of Baller League. Despite opening the scoring, they ended up being hammered 7-2 by Santan to suffer their second defeat in just three weeks to see them slip to third place in the standings. Alongside that defeat, the pre-competition favourites have also seen their outright price drift from 9/4 to 11/4; that sees their probability shrink from 31% to 27% in the biggest negative move across the field of teams in the week.
For a long time we've spoken about Deportrio and Yanited being the teams to beat in this competition. Well, Yanited ended Deportrio's unbeaten start three weeks ago but then fell to their own first ever defeat last week and they've gone without a win this week too, drawing 2-2 with SDS despite leading twice in the match. The good news for Yanited is that they are favourites to go all the way at 12/5 but they have seen their probability reduce by 4%.
We've already touched on Santan's incredible performance on Monday night as they hit Deportrio for seven. It is perhaps unsurprising that they've seen by far the biggest increase in probability with their 6/1 price implying a 14% chance; that is up from 9% last week. It is, however, worth noting that despite that strong showing, they are only fourth in the standings.
VZN have seen their probability grow by 3% week-on-week as they join Santan at a 7/1 price. The big difference there though is that VZN top the standings at the moment with a four point gap to fifth place. They didn't actually win in game week 7 though, drawing 5-5 with Rules the World; it means they might top the standings but have won fewer games than each of the other top four.
