They say things can change quickly in football. Well, they can change even quicker in Baller League. Last week the big story was Yanited beating Deportrio to move top of the standings and establishing themselves as the bookies pick in the Baller League outright odds.
This week, Yanited suffered their first defeat of the campaign as they were downed by Trebol whilst Deportrio's three-deep management team of Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Micah Richards led their team to a relatively easy win over Wembley Rangers, who are co-managed by their former Match of the Day colleague Ian Wright.
It means Deportrio are back on top of the standings but what does it mean for the Baller League outright betting?
We have seen a shift around in the Baller League top four after game week 6. Here are the latest outright Baller League odds and how they have moved from last week.
Deportrio have been outright favourites before the tournament began all the way up until their defeat against Yanited last week. Seven days on, they win the battle of the Match of the Day bosses - aided by a Marvin Sordell thunderbolt from halfway - and find themselves back at the summit of the standings.
Still though, the bookies favour Yanited as favourites. Despite that, it is Deportrio that have seen the biggest positive swing where week-on-week probability is concerned with their price shortening from 5/2 to 9/4.
As Deportrio's chances of picking up silverware have increased, Yanited's have dwindled. Their unbeaten record was the only one standing as we headed into Monday's games but they've suffered that first 'L' now; it came as they were unable to handle some roughing up from Trebol, which might also give other teams some insight in how to get the better of Angry Ginge's side.
To make matters worse for Yanited, VZN have edged ahead of them in the table too with the odds on offer for Yanited drifting from 7/4 to 2/1. Importantly, whilst they’ve seen a 3% decline in probability where the outright win is concerned, they are still favourites.
We've just touched on the fact that VZN have moved ahead of Yanited in the standings but, actually, their probability to lift the Baller League crown has declined since last week with the odds now giving them just an 11% chance compared to 12.5% after last week. On the surface, that might sound a little odd but they have won fewer games than both Deportrio and Yanited with their week six result an unconvincing draw with M7 FC; they need a last minute leveller there.
As already touched on, Trebol sprang a surprise on Monday night beating Yanited and it's seen their outright probability improve by 1% - that's the second biggest step up behind Deportrio's shift from last week. A 12/1 price still makes them a longshot to win the tournament but with Santan only two points above them in the top four, there is every chance they could sneak into those key positions.
Santan, who face Yanited next week, lost to N5 this week. N5's game week 7 match is against Trebol so a switch between Trebol and Santan is far from impossible come this time next week.
