Who Has Made the Best Start to Baller League?

A third of the teams competing in the inaugural Baller League UK are yet to drop points with Yanited and Deportrio topping the charts with respective +7 goal differences. Santan FC and MVPs United round out the top four.

At the other end, three teams remain pointless. N5 are rock bottom with a -9 GD having shipped 14 goals across their opening two matches.

John Terry's 26ers aren't fairing much better with Wembley Rangers, who have a -3 GD, only two goals better off. That leaves FC Round the World also winless but, notably, not pointless as the only team to have earned an Extra Point to date.

Who Are the Favourites to Win Baller League UK?

With two game weeks under our belt and understanding of how this new style of football works, there have been some shifts in the betting markets. Here we look at how the Baller League outright odds have moved.

  • Deportrio 11/4

Deportrio, who are led by the trio that is Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Micah Richards, were the early favourites in the Baller League outright markets and remain as such after two game weeks at a price of 11/4 having beaten VZN and N5 by a combined 13-6 scoreline across the opening weeks; the game week 2 victory over N5 being assisted by the inclusion of wildcard player Joleon Lescott.

As a result of those wins, that 11/4 price has seen their title chances improve with a 3.6% improvement in their overall probability of winning the tournament.

  • Yanited 11/2

Angry Ginge is making a name for himself as a Baller League manager with his team currently topping the standings. They pummelled N5, the early whipping boys who have seen their outright price stretch to a massive 50/1 out from 12/1 pre-tournament, in the opening week and followed that up with a more competitive 7-5 win over the 26ers.

An 11/2 price implies Yanited's chances of lifting the trophy stands at just over 15% - up from 8% last week. That is the biggest improvement in probability across the competition.

  • Santan FC 11/2

Santan have seen the second biggest improvement in their outright probability having shortened from a price of 10/1 down to 11/2, a 6% improvement in their chances.

They have been involved in two fairly tight matches to date, which is reflected in their +3 GD. Arguably though, they've come through two tough fixtures to start their campaign and, as such, should be in a good place going forwards.

That is further evidenced by their match stats that showcase them as the biggest attacking threat with the most big chances and most shots on target of any team.

  • Trebol FC 15/2

Trebol coming in at 15/2 is a noteworthy subject; they are the best priced side without a 100% record with their price having improved from 9/1. That 2% improvement in probability is all down their 5-1 demolition job of Round the World in Monday night's last game.

Amin Belaid starred in that match netting a five minute hat-trick, which followed a treble in defeat last week. With the league's leading scorer in attack, it is clearly fancied that they have a chance.

  • 26ers 20/1

We have touched on the four most fancied sides to win Baller League UK but it's worth highlighting John Terry's 26ers as well. The legendary Chelsea captain saw his team fancied as one of the big hitters two weeks ago but two defeats from two, along with having the lowest number of big chances created, has seen their price slide massively.

Now priced as a 20/1 shot, they have seen their probability of winning Baller League reduce by nearly 8%, which is the biggest decline across all 12 sides.
