Rhino.bet UK Review (2024)

Rhino is one of the newest online betting sites in the UK, with the brand having arrived in the middle of the global pandemic - a far from safe time to be launching a new business.

The online gambling sector is already rather congested in the UK but new entrants to the market are always interesting with sports fans keen to see what fresh ideas they bring to the table.

Like a lot of the UK's newest online sportsbooks, Rhino also has an online casino attached, so it offers slots and games such as blackjack and roulette as well as betting on a variety of sports.

Rhino promises a streamlined approach to being an online sports betting service, which it hopes will be a unique selling point that is strong enough to persuade users to sign up for accounts.

A mission statement on the Rhino site also claims that this new online bookmaker has "removed all the noise that most betting sites feel they have to create", so the brand talks a good game.

But the proof is in the pudding, so our complete review of the Rhino online sportsbook and casino will tell everything people need to know about whether it is worth joining this new site.

Introduction to Rhino

Rhino has not been around at all, with the idea to launch the sportsbook and casino coming during the COVID-19 crisis, when there was a large spike in online gambling interest in the UK.

That was partly due to the fact that bricks and mortar betting shops - though some are still around - and casinos had been forced to close their doors, with the result being that more people went online to gamble.

Rhino's launch came with a lot of promises that this new UK online casino and sportsbook site will not be afraid to do things differently from the norm - but users will have heard this before.

Unlike a lot of the newest online sportsbooks and casinos in the UK, though, Rhino does already have its own mobile betting apps that is available for both iOS and Android devices.

Payment options are a little limited here, however, those who join Rhino are only able to pick from Mastercard, Visa, Maestro or bank transfer to make deposits and withdrawals at this site.

Rhino is owned and operated by a company called Playbook Gaming Ltd, which is licensed and regulated by the Gambling Commission. This ensures that it is legal to use for betting in the UK. As well as the Rhino UK casino and sportsbook site, Playbook Gaming is the company behind white-label sites such as betzone.co.uk, bresbet.com, planetsportbet.com and Vickers.bet.

But what exactly can users expect from the Rhino sportsbook?

Rhino Sportsbook Review

Promotions are usually how a lot of sports fans in the UK judge a new sports betting site. Whether or not that is fair is up for debate, but new sportsbooks like Rhino typically have to put up a seducing suite of deals, bonuses and promotions in order to convince new users to play.

Unfortunately, that is not really the case. There is a welcome bonus in place, but it does not compete with the biggest and best betting offers out there, while the main Rhino website does not even have a page for promotions, which is fairly damning.

Horse racing betting fans, however, will enjoy the fact they can get best odds guaranteed (BOG) for racing prices, which is a tick in the box at least. BOG is in play for all UK and Irish horse racing meetings that are listed on the Rhino site. There are also other enhanced odds and price boosts up for grabs to provide more value too. Racing is one of the top sports to bet on at Rhino, but is is still not among the top ten bookies for the sport of kings.

For big football games such as matches in the Premier League, Rhino sportsbook customers have access to a wide range of markets, including the usual options such as cards and corners. But, they will struggle to compete with the best football betting sites in the UK which offer free live streams, custom bets, daily odds boosts and more.

The list of sports is not exactly comprehensive, though, with Rhino aiming for quantity over quality. While users can bet on some primarily North American sports such as baseball, ice hockey and and the increasingly popular NFL, a lot of minor sports like bandy, handball and pool are missing on this site.

Most people rarely bet on those sports, though, so this is unlikely to be considered an issue that users lack the option to bet on volleyball, water polo or Gaelic football. It is worth noting it has been a deliberate choice by the operators of the Rhino sportsbook not to provide odds and markets for everything under the sun. As a mission statement posted on the site says: "Our approach allows our customers to bet on the most popular sports and the very best markets."

Esports betting is also a notable omission. A lot of industry insiders are predicting that esports betting has a bright future, so it is a little surprising this area has been overlooked at Rhino. The new UK sportsbook does have some TV and special markets, such as markets for reality shows like Dancing On Ice, but there were no political odds such as the outcome of elections.

Something else missing at Rhino is live streaming of sports events. It is rare to see a new UK sportsbook site be able to offer live streaming soon after launch, however, so this is not much of a surprise. A lot of sports fans in the UK do expect live streaming of UK and Irish horse racing, though, so this is something Rhino should be looking to add in the future, along with esports betting and so on.

Virtual sports betting is included on the Rhino sportsbook site, with this area having its own special page. A couple of different virtual football games are available to bet on and there is also a choice of virtual horse racing, virtual speedway, virtual dogs, virtual cricket and various others.

All in all, Rhino's sportsbook does offer something quite different from other rival UK betting sites. Odds on offer here tend to be solid enough - especially when customers can use the Rhino price boosts or enhanced odds - but there could be more promotions to tempt new users.

Rhino Casino Review

Rhino does not just have a sportsbook to offer customers in the UK, with the site also home to an online casino, which has a separate section for top live casino games like roulette as well.

As is the case with the biggest and best online casinos in the UK, though, it is slots that dominate the selection at the Rhino online casino. Users are presented with a large range of slots to pick from and there is a search function in place that can be used to find a particular game. However, navigating through the game library at the Rhino casino could be easier. The site does not allow users to filter games by studio or developer, which is functionality that a lot of other UK online casinos have. Not all the major studios have their games included here either.

Special casino promotions are up for grabs, with Rhino Reels an area of the site where players have the chance to earn dozens of free spins. The free spins that can be won here are played at 0.10p, which is fairly low and means users are unlikely to ever win big from Rhino's free spins.

The live casino is likely to be the area where a lot of players headfirst after signing up at Rhino. Here, they will find a big range of rooms to enter for classic games like roulette, blackjack and baccarat. Stake size is varied so the Rhino casino can appeal to as many people as possible. Bets for just a few pennies can be placed at the Rhino live casino, but it is also possible to gamble thousands of pounds here, so high rollers are certainly going to be happy at Rhino.

Away from the classic live casino games, though, Rhino has some work to do. Many casino fans in the UK will be used to having the chance to play games like Monopoly and Deal Or No Deal available but neither of them are in place at the Rhino live casino as of yet. When it comes to game show titles the selection is very limited, although Sweet Bonanza CandyLand is a live casino game that certainly catches the eye and is likely to appeal to users on the Rhino site.

Rhino is also one of the UK online casinos where Pragmatic Play’s ‘Drops & Wins – Daily Prize Drops & Weekly Tournaments are available to play. With a prize pool of £500,000 up for grabs, those who are hoping to land a life-changing win should certainly take part in these top games.

A lot of leading UK online casinos now offer a separate poker room. This is not the case at Rhino just yet, although of course there is a chance that this could be added at a later date. Searching for poker games on the Rhino casino site only brought up one option at the time of writing, so there are not a lot of video poker games for fans of this game to try their luck on. Bingo is also missing when it comes to the game selection at the Rhino site at the present time.

Table games can be sidelined for slots and live casino games at some leading UK online casinos, but Rhino has ensured there are dozens of roulette and blackjack games to play. With not everyone interested in playing any casino games in a live setting, this is a tick in the box for Rhino. A roulette game themed on the classic arcade game Space Invaders catches the eye but it is perhaps fair to say that the selection of games overall at Rhino is not the most impressive.

Rhino Customer Support

An area where a lot of new UK sportsbooks and online casinos often find it hard to compete with the biggest betting brands around is customer support. At Rhino, the site's mission statement claims that it can offer users "superior customer service" but this is not easy to achieve at all.

Frankly, it is difficult to see how Rhino's customer service can be classed as "superior". UK players now expect 24/7 customer support to be available as a matter of priority with live chat able to be accessed around the clock. Rhino does not even have a live chat option at this time and it is not immediately obvious to customers what they need to do if they have a question.

Email customer support is available on this new UK online casino and sportsbook by sending a message to the team at [email protected], but users will not get a rapid response. There is an FAQ section and, without live chat at Rhino, it is probably the case this will be where users go first in the event that they have an issue with their account. Rhino's FAQ is pretty solid and it does include plenty of information about what its customers need to do in the event that they want to make a complaint about something on the new online sportsbook and casino site.

Rhino Payment Methods

Sports fans and casino lovers in the UK are used to having a massive choice of payment methods on betting sites. However, in keeping with the stripped-back nature of what Rhino is trying to achieve, this is not the case - or at least it was not at the time our review was written.

While credit cards can no longer be used to make a deposit into an online betting site in the UK, debit cards from Visa, Maestro and Mastercard can be used to add funds to an account. It is probably fair to say that debit cards are the primary payment method for most people in the UK, so the lack of many alternatives is unlikely to be much of an issue for users who sign up here.

Bank transfer is also available, but anyone who is hoping to be able to use an e-wallet such as PayPal, Skrill or Neteller will be disappointed that they do not have these options at Rhino. It goes without saying that Rhino is not one of the new UK online casinos and sportsbooks where it is possible to use cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin to make a new deposit at the present time.

According to Rhino's site, a withdrawal that is made to a debit card takes two to five working days to be processed due to normal banking procedures. This is clearly a fairly significant delay when compared to the processing times for withdrawals paid out via major e-wallets like PayPal.

Users at Rhino will not be able to make a withdrawal from their account at the online casino and sportsbook until they have verified their identity. As part of the Know Your Customer checks that UK players will now no doubt be familiar with, they will be asked to provide documentation to verify their identities such as a bank statement with the address displayed, a passport, a letter from HMRC or a driver's licence. Proof of funds may also be required on the Rhino UK site too.

After using the site for a while all was okay. Deposit and withdrawals all good. But then tried to withdraw and kept saying failed. Finally managed to withdraw says processed but never received the money in the bank. Customer services are hard to get any replies from as all emails. Do not use awful.

Be warned Do not use this site. If you do have money in your account withdraw immediately and bet with another fits like Paddy Power Bet Fred or Sky Bet. The company is dishonest and totally untrustworthy. Only had an account for less than 3 days and it has been a huge battle to get my winnings
