Typically, the over/under for total rounds betting in the UFC is likely to be set at 2.5. This market works in just the same way as over/under in football betting markets.

Combo bets might be included in the UFC betting market options as well. For example, betting site customers might be able to pick a fighter to win a particular bout in under 2.5 rounds.

Another option that is becoming more widely available, certainly for major events, is grouped round betting. Some UFC betting sites are likely to have rounds 1-2 as an option.

When round betting on the UFC, it is a good idea to research the two fighters involved. Some are known for a fast start and getting their victories over and done with quickly, which makes round one a good option, while others typically see their bouts go the distance more often.

Example of UFC Round Betting in Action

Let's look back at Conor McGregor's famous first bout with Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, which was probably the most high-profile meeting in the history of combat sports.

Although many fight fans expected McGregor to come out on top in the Octagon, it was Nurmagomedov who was able to celebrate after forcing his opponent into submission.

The end of the fight came in the fourth round. Therefore, any UFC betting fans who had backed round four in the UFC round betting markets would have been a winner on the night.

While Nurmagomedov was later suspended as a result of a post-bout fracas, the result stood, and Khabib to win in round four would have been a very lucrative winning bet for UFC 229.
