It is rare to have a player valued at close to £100m who barely gets a mention when fans and pundits talk about the attacking options a side boasts. That is the situation that Real Madrid man Rodrygo finds himself in, though, with his undoubted talents very much in the shadow cast by Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior.
With Real having endured a poor season by their usual standards, and a change of manager occurring in the dugout this summer, it is highly plausible that one of the club’s big hitters leaves to free up funds. This would allow Xabi Alonso to bring in a player or two of his own choosing, with Florian Wirtz quite possibly featuring high up his priority list.
If that is something the club are considering, then Rodrygo is one of those who would command a big fee. There would be plenty of takers too.
We can make a strong argument for Rodrygo leaving Real Madrid this summer. However, while he’s never going to be the main man at the club, the bookies' odds suggest the most likely outcome at the end of summer is that he stays put.
You can make an argument for that too. With a new manager coming in, Rodrygo might feel he has a better chance of establishing himself, whilst there is also the possibility that Alonso at least wants to keep him around to get a proper look at how he might be able to get the frontline firing.
If the player isn’t feeling pushed out, it’s rare that a player kicks down doors to leave a club like Los Blancos.

There are heavy links for Rodrygo to Arsenal, but at 2/1, it is not a value bet. Not by a long stretch. Of course, Rodrygo would enhance Arsenal’s squad, which is needed but it isn’t a deal that makes sense for two reasons.
Firstly, the Gunners are crying out for an out-and-out striker. Rodrygo is not that. That means that Mikel Arteta is going to drop a significant sum of money on another player this summer, with Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko heavily linked.
Are the club in a position to go and splash out on Rodrygo on top of that? Probably not. The other factor to consider is that Rodrygo’s preferred position is on the right wing, which is the spot Bukayo Saka usually occupies for Arsenal; neither player would be happy to share that role.

When you first think about Newcastle being in the race to sign Rodrygo, it doesn’t immediately jump out as a realistic deal. The more we think about it though, the more you can make an argument for 7/1 looking like an alright price.
They have secured Champions League football ahead of next season, which is one big box ticked, and they have established themselves as a top side with silverware won this season as well.
You have then got the Brazilian connection that could further strengthen the chances of Rodrygo being open to a move; that comes courtesy of Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes, who both seem to love life at St James’ Park.
From a tactical standpoint, Newcastle’s right-wing options basically start and end with Jacob Murphy. He’s had a great season, to be fair, but he’s 30 years old and is nowhere near the elite level of Rodrygo.
That means Newcastle would strengthen their XI, bolster their squad and the player would get an almost nailed on starting spot. The only other factor to consider is finances, which PSR complicates. That could be a real stumbling block but a deal isn’t impossible.

If there is a good player available on the transfer market that is not yet in their peak years, then Chelsea always seem to be linked. As such, they’re rumoured to be interested in Rodrygo.
At 10/1, the value perhaps isn’t quite what it should be. Furthermore, most reports are playing down any concrete moves from the Blues with Real Madrid said to be keen to incorporate Enzo Fernandez into the negotiations, something Chelsea are not open to.

Liverpool have just locked Mo Salah down to a new contract, meaning he will be one of the first names on the Reds’ team sheet next season. Given he plays in Rodrygo’s preferred position on the right-hand side, it would have to be a fairly big sell from Arne Slot to convince the player that Anfield is the right move for him.
Of course, rumours of Luis Diaz potentially leaving the club for Real’s rivals Barcelona does create an opening on the other flank. Could Rodrygo be convinced to do that role for a couple of years, knowing that Salah is winding down? Maybe, but it does feel like a bit of a stretch for both parties, especially with the fee involved.
