Bethard is one of the best betting sites out there right now. Bethard was born in 2014 with an emphasis to the Scandinavian market. You may recognize the face of the brand as one of Sweden’s most successful football players of all time. The king himself, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
They have made quite the impact in mainland Europe, and now it has aimed their target towards the UK. The UK site launched in May 2018 a few days before this review, and it’s exciting to see if the sportsbook lives up to the hype.
Bethard is famous for delivering awesome promotions and betting offers.

Appearance and Navigation
Firstly, the black background with yellow and white writing is both attractive and functional. Writing is clear and easy to read and it’s obvious the design is of high quality. Secondly, there is no overload of information or clutter. Which is refreshing when comparing to other sportsbooks.
Whilst navigating the site. It is effortless and fast to find all the necessary information. You have quick links and all sports available down the left-hand side. With some nice looking featured games in the middle. Then you can see the live betting section. With different sports highlighted by their respective equipment in a bright yellow tab.
All in all, I am a big fan of the design and colour scheme used, it is both unique and functional. Also, navigation feels natural around the site. Everything is in the right place and clear to see.
Bethard’s sportsbook has enough variety to please almost all punters. With over 30 different sports to choose from you will be sure to find the game you are looking for. All the big sports are present like Football, Tennis, etc. But, there is no Horse Racing at the time of this review. It has only emerged into the UK market, but the absence of Horse Racing is a big loss for many punters. Even so, if you are okay without Horse Racing, you are sure to find the sport you are looking for. Also, there are more niche sports like E-sports, Trotting, Chess etc.
When looking at the market depth there is a lot to be happy about. Firstly, there is an extensive range of Football leagues to choose from. Including smaller countries such as Rwanda, Omen and many more. Secondly, this can be seen in many sports such as Tennis, Ice Hockey and others too. It’s impressive to see such variety and depth in many sports categories. Allowing for a great choice when selecting your bets.
Live Betting and Streaming
The live betting section has its own tab at the top of the page, straightaway you can see the depth of choice at Bethard. For the day there were over 250 different events on, in which you could find in the “Live Schedule” tab. In this, you can filter it by sport or choose to have it in one long list organised by the upcoming matches at the top.
At the time of reviewing there were eight sports on, with Tennis dominating the figures. Over 50 live matches to bet on, from obscure tournaments around the world. Tennis and football have the most options so will focus on these markets to compare with other sportsbooks.
You have the standard match info-graphic with the live stats to the right of the screen. I saw there is a live streaming option which is a fantastic addition to a new sportsbook. The in-play page is clear and easy to understand. Also, the effective colour scheme makes choosing bets that much simpler.
Bethard excels in the live betting market depth. With the average Tennis and Football match having over 30 different markets. This may seem little to some, but these matches were in the more niche sector of their sport. For example, you had 29 different markets in the Vietnam Women’s Championship. Not a bad number of markets for such a “small” event.
Inside these markets, you also had the “Live Markets” option. A cool and innovative feature making live betting that much more thrilling. As mentioned before, you can bet on events to happen in the next 1-10 minutes of the match. From goals scored to free kicks awarded, you can bet on it happening within a certain time.
Bethard has only just released their app to the UK market in the middle of July 2018. Through their app, you can get exclusive mobile offers every week including free spins and bonuses.
The app doesn’t seem to have a menu button at the top left like the mobile site though. It can make navigation slower which is not ideal for in-play betting. Plus, their home page is not loading fully at the moment. But, the app is just a week old so there is bound to be some issues. We are confident there will be an update to fix any issues.
Apart from that, we love the Bethard design and its user-friendly functionality. You can build bets fast through quick links to their most popular leagues and events.
Their customer service is easy to find in the “more” tab at the bottom left or the top left “help” tab on their home page. It is a 24/7 service running 7 days a week with live chat and email available through the app and mobile site.
On their desktop site, you can click on a bar chat tab to get in-depth stats to do with the event. Sadly, whilst using the app, this function seems to be faulty. Your screen will freeze in a light grey and not load in an external tab like it does on a desktop. But, as we said the app is only a week old in the UK so we are sure these bugs will be sorted fairly soon.
On the mobile site, this is not an issue, and the page loads in its external link just how its meant to. If you are experiencing issues with the app, simply use their mobile site and all should be fine. Whilst there are issues with the app we recommend using their mobile site that will work on all devices.
Bethard has an outstanding customer service that is available 24/7, seven days a week. Click on the “Support” Tab in the top right-hand corner. Then there are several different methods of contact:
- Live Chat Service
- FAQ’s Page
- Email Service- firstname.lastname@example.org
In conclusion, Bethard is an outstanding sportsbook capable of pleasing almost all punters. Their unique and stunning design, combined with huge market depth makes them a one of a kind site.
The absence of Horse Racing could be an issue for some. If so check out Paddy Power or William Hill. Also, it would also be nice to see more promotions. But, as the site is only a few days old in the UK market, it is understandable. In short, Bethard is an awesome sportsbook worthy of your time.
