Krasnodar v FC Porto07/08/2019 00:00
At 10/11, I see real value in this pick. Krasnodar are already four games into their domestic campaign, picking up two wins one draw and one loss in that time. They have kept just one clean sheet, but they have scored seven goals in their four games.
Krasnodar will come up a tough opponent in Porto, but, a new look Porto that have lost a lot of their key players this season, especially in defence. Both of their key CB’s from last season have moved on, with Eder Militao joining Real Madrid, and Felipe joining Atletico Madrid.
Porto also lost a few key players to free transfers, with Hector Herrera and Yacine Brahimi departing the Portuguese giants. But, Porto have been a solid team in the Champions League in recent years, and I see them being a real attacking threat tonight.
However, they are not always the best away from home. Porto have conceded in seven of their last eight away games, and they will likely be a bit rusty as they have just played friendlies so far.
Krasnodar are usually consistent goal scorers at home, and I see them continuing that trend tonight. The Russian side have scored in their last eight competitive home matches, and they are capable of keeping clean sheets.
But, keeping out this attacking Porto side will be no easy task. This is a step up for Krasnodar after competing in the Europa League last season, and they managed just one clean sheet in last year’s Europa League.
Porto saw both teams score in six of their last eight away games in the Champions League, only failing to score at Anfield on both occasions. You cannot judge a team for failing to score at Anfield, not many can.
