BATE lost their last home game in the Europa League 4-1 to PAOK, while conceding three goals in the first 17 minutes of the game. Chelsea cruised past BATE in the reverse fixture while scoring two goals in the first eight minutes.
Loftus-Cheek scored a hat-trick on the day in a brilliant performance by Chelsea, but they did concede in the 79th minute. I am expecting another comfortable Chelsea win tonight against a fairly poor Belarussian side.
Sarri will want to wrap up this group with a win from this game and I feel he will start a solid team to get the job done. Chelsea have won 13 and drawn 3 of their first 16 games and I see them continuing that fine record tonight. At 2/1 I am a big fan of this pick if Chelsea can get an early goal.
Lazio will go into this match as strong favourites, but they actually have pretty good odds. Marseille have lost their last three games while scoring just one goal and conceding eight.
In fact, Marseille has won just two games on the road this season while losing four and drawing one. Lazio have won four of their last five matches while losing to an in-form Inter.
The Italians won 3-1 at the Orange Velodrome, and have scored 10 goals in their last five games while conceding five goals. But, three of them came in their heavy loss to Inter a few games back.
Lazio are terrific in Europe, losing just one of their last 13 home games while winning 10 and drawing 2.
Genk smashed four goals on the road against Besiktas in their reverse fixture, and I see them scoring quite a few goals again tonight. In fact, Genk have scored 2+ goals in their last four of their last five home games to a total of 13 goals in that time.
Besiktas are not in the best form and haven’t won away from home in their last seven games. They are sitting in sixth in the league after losing three of their last four matches while conceding eight goals in that time.
I fancy a Genk win here, but there is better value in Genk scoring over 1.5 goals, and I see that landing comfortably tonight.
Having watched Leverkusen play against Hoffenheim in that 4-1 loss on Saturday, I have faith in Zurich getting a goal or two in this game. Defensively, Leverkusen were all over the place and allowed such easy goals, but there was also clinical finishing from Hoffenheim on the day.
Zurich have scored ten goals in three games and have actually scored 2+ goals in their last five games. But, they have also conceded 2+ goals in their last five games. There have been a total of 28 goals in their last five matches. Zurich scored 16 of the goals and conceded 12 goals in those five goals.
Similarly, Bayer have scored 16 goals in their last five games while conceding eight goals in the process. I can see a fairly high-scoring affair in this game tonight with both teams getting on the scoresheet.
