Ronaldo in action against Chievo Verona, wearing the beautiful Juventus away shirt. Will, he achieve Champions League success with the Old Lady?
How strange is it going to be, seeing Ronaldo in a Juve shirt playing in the Champions League? But, it does provide Juventus with the best opportunity to finally win the trophy with one of the best CL players of all time. He has been the top scorer for six years in a row and doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon.
Messi’s hat-trick yesterday will only inspire Ronaldo to play better, and after getting his first two goals in a Juventus shirt last week, he could be their man again tonight. Juventus have won their first four games, but have been conceding goals.
Valencia have a nice young squad and heavily invested after qualifying for the CL last season. However, they are yet to get going with 3 draws and one loss in their opening four games. They have conceded two goals twice, to the lesser opposition in Espanyol and Levante.
Juventus have a terrific away record and won against Spurs and Real Madrid on the road last season. A win looks likely, but Juventus have struggled against Spanish teams in recent history. Five of their last six defeats in CL came against Spanish teams, but they should be more than enough to get a win here.
Just in case, we are backing over 1.5 Juventus goals at the same odds of a Juventus win. If you fancy the outright win, add that instead.
Sheffield Wednesday have scored two or more goals in their last five encounters against Forest, and have been leading at Halftime and Full time in their last four away matches.
The last five matches between these two sides have produced three or more goals, and we expect the same tonight. Wednesday have scored two goals in three of their away matches so far, and have scored two goals in each of their last four matches.
Forest have been struggling to perform under Karanka, and he’s starting to come under real pressure. This is not the best game for him considering their H2H record and current form. If you fancy the Wednesday win, you can get them at around 3/1. But, we see Forest scoring too, and it could even end up a 2-2 draw.
Shakhtar goes into this match with a lot of confidence in their ability to win matches at home. They won all four home matches in the CL last season, and have 13 wins from their last 15 matches.
They have plenty of CL pedigree and experience, whereas Hoffenheim are making their CL debut. They have lost their opening two away matches in the Bundesliga, which continues their poor form on the road from last season. They won just 4 matches, drew 6 and lost 7 last season in the Bundesliga.
Shakhtar scored 2+ goals in all four of their CL home matches last season, but they failed to keep a clean sheet in all of them. Junior Moraes has started well for Shakhtar and has seven goals in eight matches.
Donetsk have also scored 2 or more goals in their last five matches, whereas Hoffenheim have conceded two or more goals in their first three matches.
