Michael Smith v James Wade09/05/2019 19:15
Mensur Suljovic v Rob Cross09/05/2019 20:00
Daryl Gurney v Gerywn Price09/05/2019 20:45
I am going for a Wade win at evens to kick off the tip. Smith is now out of the running for the playoffs and is only playing for pride in this one. Smith lost 8-1 to Rob Cross in his last match on the big stage, and he will likely struggle against an inform James Wade tonight.
Wade has been throwing some great darts, winning a number of tour events while winning his last PL match 8-4 against Gerwyn Price. Wade has been clinical with his doubles this season, and I feel this will be the difference tonight.
Smith is still struggling with his checkouts, although he is still averaging well, his game has hit a rough patch this year.
Also, Wade has an excellent head to head record against Smith, winning their last nine meetings! The psychological edge and form should show tonight.
There is great value in this pick, and yes, anything can happen in the Premier League, but this will be a bankroll builder pick for me.
Can Rob Cross top the Premier League table this year? A draw will guarantee his semi-final spot, but I know Rob Cross is targeting that first place finish, and I expect him to come out with all guns blazing.
Cross blew Michael Smith away in his last match, winning 8-1 while averaging 102.54 with a 57.14 checkout percentage.
Mensur played his game to pick up an 8-6 win against Peter Wright last week, but I think he will struggle tonight. When Cross is throwing well, it is hard to get into the game, and Mensur will need to score big to keep up with the Voltage.
Suljovic should not be underestimated in this game, and his steady style of darts can cause some real issues for Cross tonight. However, I see value in the Cross win with the form, and momentum very much on the side of the Voltage.
Mensur has won five of their last six meetings though, winning 7-5 in their last PL meeting earlier in the year. Still, if Cross continues his fine form, he should get the win tonight.
If you want a safer bet, I see value in over 12.5 legs at 4/7. These two tend to play some close games, and Mensur tends to drag out games picking up legs with his consistent throw.
Still, I do see the best value in the Cross win if he plays to his potential tonight.
This is going to be a close, close game (I think), potentially even finishing as a draw. But, I think Price can get the better of Superchin in this one, or at the very least, a draw.
Gurney has never won a match against Price on TV, and Price’s boisterous tactics will likely get to Gurney in this match. If Price has a quick start, I can see him getting the mental edge in this one, and I think it will be key for the result tonight.
In terms of ability and form, both are very similar right now. But, never underestimate the mental edge in a game of darts or any individual sport. Especially one with a character like Gerwyn Price.
He has the darts, and ability to get under Gurney’s skin in this match, and I think he will do just that to get at least a draw tonight.
Again, I believe this match will be very close, and there is value in the draw at 7/2 if you fancy a longshot.
Price has drawn five PL games this season, and despite his loss against Wade last time out, I do seem him bouncing back with a better performance.
Gerwyn has won eight of their last 11 meetings, and his unbeaten record on TV will play a part in this match. To cover what I feel could be a very close game, the Price draw not bet has good value at 10/11.
