This fixture has got bore-draw written all over it. Burnley drew their last match 0-0 away to Leicester while only scoring three goals in their last five Premier League matches. Similarly, Newcastle have seen three 0-0 draws away from home against Palace, Cardiff and Southampton.
In fact, the Magpies have only seen 24 goals this season with nine goals scored while conceding fifteen. Burnley have managed 12 goals this season, but they have conceded a whopping 25 goals.
However, I see this match being a tight, cagey affair with Newcastle hardly the clinical side going forward. Under 2.5 goals has landed in three of their last four meetings, and I see it landing again tonight.
Real Sociedad come into this game without a win at home this season, but this could change tonight against a leaky Celta Vigo defence. Sociedad won their last match 3-1 away from home against Levante, but they have failed to score in their last three home games. However, I cannot see that trend continuing tonight.
Celta Vigo have recently changed their manager, but they have conceded 20 goals this season while conceding 3+ goals in four matches. Also, Celta are missing two key defenders for tonight’s game with suspensions.
But, Celta are prolific going forward with the third-best attack in the league scoring 22 goals. Both teams have scored in their last four H2H meetings and I see it landing again tonight.
Cagliari are unbeaten at home this season with two wins and four draws while scoring two goals in each of their last two home wins. Similarly, Torino are unbeaten on the road this season with two wins and four draws.
Torino have scored seven goals in their last three away matches while conceding three. In their H2H meetings, both teams have got on the scoresheet in eight of their last nine matches.
Cagliari’s Leonardo Pavoletti is in fine scoring form with four goals in his last five matches, while Torino’s Andrea Belotti scored a first-half brace in their last match.
Oh, the Eerste Divisie returns with a Monday Night banger. Firstly, Jong AZ have seen both teams score in their last ten matches in a row. In fact, both teams have scored in 13 of their 14 league fixtures this season.
Twente have seen both teams score in their last four away matches while scoring in all six of their matches on the road this season. Twente will be looking to bounce back after two successive defeats to promotion rivals.
But, they are in for a challenge against an AZ team that have lost just once in their last five home matches. Jong AZ have scored 2 or more goals in four of their six home matches this season with the in-form Ferdy Druijf scoring 12 goals in 13 matches this season.
