I struggle to see anything but a Chelsea win tonight as they should show their class against Frankfurt. The Blues are very strong at Stamford Bridge, scoring three or more goals in their last five home games in the Europa League.
Meanwhile, Frankfurt come off the back of a 6-1 drilling against Bayer Leverkusen, conceding six goals in the first half! They were limited to just one shot on target against Chelsea in the first leg at home, and I see them struggling once again in this match.
In terms of the Chelsea corners, they average 6.05 corners at home while Frankfurt concedes an average of 5.56 on the road. Chelsea racked up 11 corners in the reverse leg, and hopefully, that trend continues tonight.
For the cards, Eintracht love a tackle, and usually one that leads to a card. They average 2.4 cards on the road per game, and I think they will be frustrated by Chelsea tonight.
Also, Chelsea have a number of skillful players, all capable of drawing fouls to get those cards.
Frankfurt rack up an average of 14.8 fouls per game on the road, and this should lead to a few cards.
They also have the worst disciplinary record in the UEL this season, racking up 31 yellow cards and 3 red cards.
Ovidiu Hategan is in charge tonight, and he averages 3.75 cards a game in the Europa League.
Could there be a comeback on the cards for Valencia? If this week is anything to go by, Valencia could well shock the Gunners. But, there is also the matter of Arsenal’s poor form at the moment, especially on the road.
Valencia will get chances against this weak Arsenal back line, and the Gunners have conceded 11 goals in their last five games while conceding six goals in their last two away games.
However, Arsenal will likely get an important away goal in this match, as Valencia will need to push for goals in this game if they have any hope of qualifying. I can see a fairly open match tonight, which should lead to goals and corners at both ends.
Valencia average 5.19 corners while conceding 4.39 and Arsenal average 5.59 while conceding 4.86. Three or more corners for each team should be fairly easy if this game is as open as I think it will be.
