Portsmouth v Shrewsbury08/09/2019 15:00
Sunderland v Fleetwood08/09/2019 15:00
Southend v Peterborough08/09/2019 15:00
Pompey are in fine form at the moment with five wins and one draw as they sit 2nd in the league. They have won all three of their home matches so far, and are in terrific scoring form with 11 goals and only conceding one.
Shrewsbury have had a fairly rough start to the season with a measly 3 points with 3 losses and 3 draws. They are showing signs of improvement though, as they played better to get the draw against Bristol Rovers.
Shrewsbury may be second from bottom, but they have a terrific h2h record against Portsmouth. This will be a serious test for them, even if the table doesn’t look that way. The Shrews have won the last five meetings, with Pompey failing to score in the last three encounters.
But, we believe Portsmouth will end this five-game losing streak, and push on with their terrific goalscoring home record. However, we can’t help feel the Shrews will get a goal with their excellent record against Pompey. Both teams to score looks like good value at evens.
Southend experienced their first taste of defeat this season at home, against Charlton last week. But, they have scored in every home match so far and will be looking to bounce back against the top of the league Peterborough.
Southend have scored at least twice in two of their three home matches in the League. Both teams have great attacking talent but do have slight defensive issues. Southend scores an average of 1.8 goals at home and Peterborough score 2.0 goals when playing away.
We have gone for the BTTS bet for this match, at 8/13.
Both teams have had fairly decent starts to their season, as Sunderland sit fourth and Fleetwood sixth. Both teams are scoring well, but fairly solid defensively too. Sunderland have only conceded two goals at home, and Fleetwood have conceded zero goals on the road.
However, BTTS have scored in all but one of Sunderland’s matches so far, with a clean sheet against a poor Scunthorpe. Fleetwood have scored an impressive seven away goals, but five of them came against Scunthorpe. They have had a relatively easy run of fixtures, but Sunderland will certainly be their toughest test so far.
With both teams scoring well, they have the quality to get on the scoresheet in this match. We expect a rather hard-fought game but can see both teams scoring.
