Can Brugge step up to the level of the Champions League? We think not. They are without a win in their last 10 CL matches, losing nine of them. Yes, they are in good form in their league and sit top with six wins and a draw. But, the step up in level will prove too high for them in this encounter.
Dortmund have started well in the league and are in fine scoring form, netting 4 against RB Leipzig, and 3 against Frankfurt, and we think they will simply outscore Brugge in this match.
Dortmund looks like a different team from last years disappointing CL exit, and we expect them to make a good start here in a tight group.
Can Carlo Ancelotti improve Napoli’s dreadful away record in Europe? Potentially, but it doesn’t look great for them. They face a big task getting out of this group, with PSG and Liverpool the most likely to qualify. They lost every away match in Europe last season and we don’t see it improving a lot here.
Napoli have had a mixed start to their Serie A campaign, with their issues away from home showing even in the domestic league. They have fallen behind to Lazio, AC Milan and Sampdoria who beat them 3-0. They managed to turn it around and beat Milan and Lazio, but their last 3-0 away loss show’s the fragility in their defence.
Belgrade are in great form and will have to rely on their home advantage to try and get anything in this group. They have scored in 21 straight home matches in the Serbian League, and have scored in 14 of their 17 matches in Europe.
Napoli have kept just one clean sheet this season while seeing both teams score in their last nine away trips. BTTS looks like decent value here, if Napoli’s dreadful away record continues. We do expect Napoli to get the win here, but Belgrade will have a good go at them.
Both of these teams can score goals and have incredible talent in their team. PSG are still questionable at the back, but Liverpool have certainly improved.
PSG have lost three of their last five away goals, with each game containing at least four goals. With the two attacking lineups on show, this should land fairly comfortable if the players have their shooting boots on.
Between these two teams, they scored a total of 192 goals in just their domestic leagues. Not including the record-breaking goal tally for Liverpool during the Champions League campaign last year.
Both teams have 100% records in their league campaigns so far, with five wins each. But, it could be said its almost expected for PSG. Yet, they have still scored 17 goals already, and their most recent 4-0 win against unbeaten St Etienne was very impressive.
Let’s face it, both teams should score here, but I do actually fancy Liverpool to get something. Right now, for both of these teams to score in both halves it is best priced at 5/1… Which are some pretty short odds if you ask me.
