ComeOn to Leave the UK Market
ComeOn announces it is leaving the UK market for “for strategic business reasons.”
ComeOn will take its sports and casino ComeOn brand, Mobilebet.com, and the Get Lucky.com casino out of the UK market, and they will stop accepting UK players from the 23rd September 2019.
ComeOn Casino’s Chief Executive Lahcene Merzoug, said: “The UK is a very mature and highly competitive market and the financial risks are big. We have never had a non-compliance breach, but we’ve seen competitors being fined big numbers and that creates uncertainty.”
“At the same time the UK license has lost its symbolic value. Before you almost had to have one to be looked upon as a credible company. Today we hold licenses in many European countries and given that the UK has never been a big market for us, it’s a wise move to put our focus elsewhere.”
ComeOn may not have had a non-compliance breach in the UK, but they recently received a SEK 6,000,000 penalty fee and a warning by offering betting on events where the majority of participants are under the age of 18.
What will happen to UK account holders?
As of the 27th September 2019, ComeOn will stop accepting deposits from existing players in the UK and their accounts will be closed.
Funds remaining in player accounts may be withdrawn at any time up until 29th September 2019, be sure to withdraw any money before this date.
If you do not read this article in time, you ComeOn have said: “However, after 29th September, UK players will have to contact our customer support team in order for us to transfer funds to their bank account.”
On BettingLounge, we will soon remove all offers from the ComeOn brands, including our no deposit free spins offer.
