Arsenal v Chelsea – Match Preview and Betting Tips
Arsenal v Chelsea – Sat 19th Jan, 17:30, Emirates Stadium
Referee: Anthony Taylor
I am looking forward to this London Derby, please do not disappoint me! Arsenal have been involved in some thrilling London derbies this season, scoring 20 goals in the process. But, they failed to score for the second time this season after West Ham won 1-0 at the London Stadium last week.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are back to winning ways with three wins and one draw in their last four Premier League matches. Although, goals have not been plentiful in those games. Chelsea have scored just six goals in their last five games while conceding four.
The Blues have won their last three away matches in a row after recovering from back to back away defeats to Spurs and Wolves. They have a solid away record this season, winning seven, drawing one and losing just two.
Arsenal have seen a dip in their form, mainly due to their poor defensive issues. They have conceded seven goals in their last three matches including a heavy 5-1 defeat at Anfield. But, the Gunners have been pretty solid at the Emirates, with four wins in a row and one draw in their last five.
In fact, Arsenal have scored an impressive 12 goals in their last four home matches, including a terrific 4-2 win against North London rivals, Spurs. They have lost just one match (Man City) at the Emirates this season while winning eight and drawing two.
Chelsea have looked a little weaker in recent games on the road, conceding in four of their last five away matches. But, they have only failed to score in one away match this season while seeing both teams score only recently.
Firstly, Arsenal are 2/1 to win, the draw is 27/10 and a Chelsea win is 7/5.
Man, there are some tasty odds for this match, but it is a very tough game to call. I can see both teams getting on the scoresheet, but who will be more clinical on the day? Realistically, I can see this ending as a btts draw.
Arsenal are looking vulnerable at the back, but their ability to score goals should never be doubted, especially at the Emirates. Chelsea won the reverse fixture 3-2 in a thrilling game, and I think there could be more value in the goals markets unless you are feeling an outright winner.
I know Arsenal failed to score last time out, but they are prolific goalscorers at home and have scored 20 goals in London Derbies this season. For them to score over 1.5 goals at 133/100 with Royal Panda is pretty nice odds.
On that note, I like the look of over 3.5 goals which is best priced at 7/4 with 888sport. Both teams have been looking vulnerable at the back, but they just need to be clinical on the night to land this pick.
I also saw this request a bet I like the look of. Each team over 1 goal is priced at 18/5 with William Hill!
