Everton v Bournemouth – Match Preview and Tips
Everton v Bournemouth – Sun 13th Jan, 14:15, Goodison Park
Referee: Anthony Taylor
Everton are certainly in a purple patch right now with just one win in their last five Premier League matches. Can they turn it around against Bournemouth or will they fall to a third successive league defeat?
Everton have failed to score in their last two Premier League games, but they have only lost both games 1-0. Similarly, Bournemouth are struggling for form with just one win in their last five Premier League games, losing three and drawing one.
But, Bournemouth have not been solid defensively, conceding a whopping 12 goals in their last three matches. They are capable of scoring a few goals themselves, but those defensive stats are worrying.
Even worse, Bournemouth’s away record has been awful lately. Losing the last five games in a row while scoring just three goals and conceding a massive 17 goals. Both teams sit on 27 points, but Everton have a +9 better goal difference than Bournemouth.
Still, neither defences are that solid, with Everton failing to keep a clean sheet in their last eight matches in a row and Bournemouth keeping just one in their last 11 PL matches.
I am hoping this game is a cracker, with the teams on paper both able to score and concede quite a few goals. They are both no strangers to high scoring affairs, and I see this happening on Sunday. In fact, their last four meetings have seen over 2.5 goals with one seeing nine goals.
Everton have won all three of their Premier League home meetings against the Cherries, scoring 10 goals. But, they come up against a Bournemouth team that are the seventh highest scorers in the league with 31 goals in 21 games.
Firstly, Everton are 4/5 to win, the draw is 3/1 and a Bournemouth win is 7/2.
This is a tough game to call, both teams are out of form, but capable of winning this match. Instead, I see value in the goals markets with over 2.5 goals at 3/4. But, I think over 3.5 goals at 9/5 with Unibet could even land if the game goes as I think it will.
I am a big fan of Callum Wilson to score anytime which is best priced at 21/10 with Betfair.
