Newcastle v Fulham – Match Preview and Betting Tips

Newcastle v Fulham – Sat 22nd Dec, 15:00, St. James’ Park
Referee: Martin Atkinson
Newcastle have lost their last two home games in a row, but Fulham have picked up just one point on the road this season. Can Ranieri get this Fulham team back to winning ways, or will Newcastle follow up their away win at Huddersfield with another tomorrow?
I struggle to see Fulham getting a win tomorrow, but it does not scream a comfortable Newcastle win. Fulham have lost three of their last four matches while scoring just two goals.
Meanwhile, Newcastle have won two, lost two and drawn one of their last five matches. But, both those losses have come at home with them scoring just one goal while conceding five.
Fulham’s defensive woes are still clear for all to see, but to make matters worse, they have been poor in the attacking sense too. Asides from the 3-2 win against Southampton, Fulham have scored just two goals in four games while conceding ten goals.
They have failed to score in five matches on the road this season while scoring just six goals in nine goals. Losing their last five matches on their travels will certainly not improve confidence.
Salomon Rondon has been involved in five of Newcastle’s last seven Premier League goals with four goals and one assist. In fact, he has two goals in his last three Premier League matches for Newcastle.
Aleksandar Mitrovic returns to face his old club, and he is Fulham’s top goalscorer. But, he has failed to find the net in four matches while not scoring on the road since Brighton back in September.
Betting Tips
Firstly, Newcastle are 21/20 to win, the draw is 13/5 and a Fulham win is 16/5.
I do like the look of a Newcastle win a 21/20 with Betway. Newcastle look like the better team and they have won four of their last seven matches. Meanwhile, Fulham are just dreadful on the road with five losses in a row.
But, I do not see Newcastle banging in goals, more of a 1-0/2-0 victory for the Magpies. On that note, I like the look of Newcastle to win to nil which is best priced at 5/2 with BetVictor.
