West Ham v Watford – Match Preview and Betting Tips

West Ham v Watford – Sat 22nd Dec, 15:00, London Stadium
Referee: Lee Mason
Can West Ham extend their winning run to five matches in a row? They are in great form, but they face a rejuvenated Watford team that drew at Goodison and beat Cardiff at home in their last two matches.
West Ham have been in fine scoring form in recent matches with 11 goals in four matches while conceding just 3 goals. But, all three goals conceded have come at the London Stadium, whereas they have kept two clean sheets away at Newcastle and Fulham in the other two wins.
Watford have seen a small turn in their form, but they have not won away from home in their last four matches while drawing two and losing two. Also, Watford have conceded two or more goals in their last five matches in a row.
Not a great time to have that defensive record against a West Ham side that are in fine scoring form. However, Watford have a good record against West Ham with four wins in their last seven Premier League meetings.
The London Stadium is not exactly a fortress for West Ham, but they have won four games while losing to Spurs, Man City, Wolves and Bournemouth. But, they did beat Man United, Burnley, Cardiff, Palace and got a draw against Chelsea.
In fact, West Ham had a rough start to their Premier League campaign, but they have now scored 3 or more goals in four wins at home this season. Coming up against a Watford team that have a poor defensive record this season could be perfect for the Hammers.
Betting Tips
Firstly, West Ham win is 11/8, the draw is 13/5 and a Watford win is 2/1.
There is certainly value in these odds for a match winner if you can pick one. Personally, I like the look of West Ham win and BTTS which is best priced at 16/5 with Betfair. Both teams continue to show weaknesses at the back and I can see them both getting on the scoresheet.
But, West Ham have been solid in their scoring department while Watford have conceded two or more goals in their last five matches in a row.
If you think Watford could nick this, or it finishes as a draw. I like both teams to score and over 2.5 goals at evens with William Hill.
For a longshot pick, I like the look of Felipe Anderson to score anytime and West Ham win 2-1 at 60/1 with BetVictor!
