Newcastle v Wolves – Match Preview and Betting Tips

Newcastle v Wolves – Sun 9th Dec, 16:00, St. James Park’
Referee: Mike Dean
Well, Super Sunday is not that super this week. Just the one Premier League game and I am not sure how this game will go. Newcastle lost their last home game to West Ham (3-0) but did draw 1-1 against Everton at Goodison Park. Before that, they had won three games in a row.
Wolves finally won a game, after losing five and drawing one in their last seven Premier League matches. It was an impressive 2-1 win against Chelsea, in which they scored two goals in four minutes to shock the Blues.
Wolves have often impressed me against some of the top teams in the league, but they have looked rather average against other teams of their quality. They have lost to Cardiff, Huddersfield, Brighton and Watford. But, picked up a draw against Arsenal, a win against Chelsea and draws against Man City, United and Everton.
Newcastle have been fairly inconsistent this season, with just three wins, four draws and eight losses. Worryingly, they have lost six home games this season while drawing none and winning two.
They have picked up more points on the road this season while winning one and drawing four. Scoring six and conceding just seven goals compared to the thirteen conceded at St. James’ Park.
Wolves have been fairly consistent both on the road and at home, but they have scored just five goals away compared to ten at Molineux. Although, they have only conceded seven goals on the road too, with most six of their seven matches seeing under 2.5 goals.
Betting Tips
Firstly, Newcastle are 2/1 to win, the draw is 11/5 and a Wolves win is 31/18 with Unibet.
This is quite a hard game to predict, with both teams being so inconsistent this season. But, I can see a low scoring match this Sunday. However, under 2.5 goals is best priced at 4/7 which isn’t great.
As I am struggling to pick a winner, I gravitate towards the draw which is best priced at 11/5 with bet365. Newcastle are yet to draw a game at home this season, but I can see their first draw coming.
