Wolves v Chelsea – Match Preview and Betting Tips

Wolves v Chelsea – Wed 5th Dec, 19:45, Molineux Stadium
Referee: Jonathan Moss
Wolves have lost four of their last five matches, how will they fare against Chelsea tonight? It doesn’t look great for Wolves to be honest. They are also without key midfield Ruben Neves as he serves a one-match ban after receiving five yellow cards.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are in a bit of a mini-crisis as they slowly fall down the table with just one point in six Premier League matches. Most concerning, they lost to two relegation favourites back to back, losing at home to Huddersfield and away to Cardiff.
I struggle to see them getting anything against this Chelsea side that have performed well on the road this season, despite their 3-1 loss to Spurs. Chelsea have won four matches, drawn one and lost one away from home this season.
But, those wins include scoring 2+ goals in each match while keeping a clean sheet in three of those wins. Wolves were defensively solid in the beginning of the season, but they have conceded eight goals in their last four games with four goals coming against some of the worst attacking teams in the league.
Wolves have lost three home matches in a row while failing to score in two of them. It will be a worry as they come up against Chelsea’s impressive defence which is in-fact the third-best defence in the league this season.
Also, Chelsea have the third-best attack in the league, scoring 30 goals to an average of 2.14 a match. I was surprised to see Mortata on five Premier League goals this season, I only ever see the man miss big chances.
Betting Tips
Firstly, Chelsea are 3/4 to win, the draw is 37/13 and a Wolves win is at 9/2.
I am a big fan of the Chelsea win at 3/4 with bet365 considering the difference in quality and form. But, I also like the look of a Chelsea win and under 2.5 goals which is priced at 3/1 with Betfair.
I can see Chelsea keeping a clean sheet tonight. But, Wolves are still a tough team to break down and I see a 1-0/2-0 victory for Chelsea.
